MEGA Conference Realignment and lawsuits Megathread: Stories, Tales, Lies, and Exaggerations

How can these guys think this way? I wasn’t alive the last time they won a title and I’m 34. Every time they get close to one they lose big. Last year was probably the closest and that wasn’t close.

Exactly the pompous attitude we are talking about.

The guy has complete lost it. I'm a Gen Xer and not big on most of the kids' internet slang, but he seriously needs to go outside and touch some grass. He's now going after media heads (e.g., Josh Pate, Emmanuel Acho) for criticizing ND for forgoing the bowl game, even if they're doing it respectfully.

And now he is blaming the ACC officiating too.

But the best is that he has a series of tweets about everyone hates ND because we all just wish we were them and they are THE premier brand in CFB. And also posted this:

If true, they are not doing this because of anything that happened this week. This would be a decision they already made and were keeping quiet.
If true and it is due to what happened this week, they have gone temporarily insane. They will come to their senses and do nothing.

I would love to see it be true though. Lose the 5 games against ACC teams in football, have to find a home for their Olympic sports, ah, it would be a tremendous cluster****.

ND is so dumb. they are made at ACC not ESPN and media that created the narrative of ND/Miami to protect Bama and Oklahoma.
They are mad at any possible reason their beloved school didn't make it in. That goes for Miami, the ACC, the SEC, ESPN, they are just lashing out.

No different than a spoiled brat who always gets his way until one day he doesn't get what he wants and he throws a temper tantrum. Much like that kid, ND will realize the world does not revolve around them at the end of the day and come to grips with reality.

That or they become an evil terrorist organization to take over the world. I may have watched a James Bond movie over the weekend though.

they should be grateful the refs stepped in in the second half against us or it would have been a blow out.

Flugauer tweeted out an excerpt of Joel Klatt's interview with Marcus Freeman from last spring. Freeman cuts to the chase pretty darn quick:

"As long as we can keep that independence, we will. But if there ever comes a time where we are at a disadvange, because we're not in a conference, then I'm sure he (Irish AD Pete Bevacqua) will make the decision along with our president to say, "hey we're gonna join one of these conferences."

"You're talking about being at a disadvantage to make the postseason, right, because you're not in the playoffs. Or there comes a time teams won't schedule you because the Big Ten or the SEC say "we're gonna play nine conference games and we'll play a crossover game (against each other) and who cares about Notre Dame" well then I think there's gonna be point where we may be forced to join a conference.

"But until that point happens, which it doesn't look likely, we're gonna stay independent as long as we can."

I'd suggest it looks very likely less than a year later

Be gentle. Every fan base has their DBC.

Yeah, if this is indeed true, it was merely the opportunity ND was looking for to leave the conference with a potential bargaining chip to reduce the buyout. Despite the ADs hysterics, ND is deliberate and rational. They didn’t make a decision in the last 24 hours to leave the conference because they’re ****ed about a CFP snub.

Not sure if you're on X or not but their level of delusion and self importance is absolutely embarrassing.

@NDfan seems like one of the good ones but there are some pretty clueless fans in that fanbase.
