MEGA Conference Realignment and lawsuits Megathread: Stories, Tales, Lies, and Exaggerations

Just to add to the “3rd hand comments from people who know somebody who is connected to someone with contacts in the B10”, there is a realignment thread on the Penn State board and the “most connected” poster there has stated “I just received an update - Clemson has been vetted and the B10 - for the time being - is passing on Clemson. Their goal is to take FSU + Miami as soon as 2028 - unless FSU is picked up by the SEC - in which case they would most likely hold off on adding programs until 2030 and would then add Miami and maybe a Ga Tech or Duke.”
I for one would love it if FSU came with us to the B1G and they could find a way to add ND and another program. Would be one heluva conference.

I'd say we're already in Scenario 2 "trifurcation". Hopeful they end up in option 4, but more than likely end up in option 3 after 2030.
I’d argue that the P2 would be content to stay in the trifurcation. That’s the money alignment for them. They call the shots, they get the lions share of playoff spots and television revenue. The next 2 models would push for parity with the number of teams in each tier. The cumulative potential increase in money won’t be enough to keep the P2 schools interested in expansion or reconfiguration.

I think both conferences could possibly expand by 2-4 teams and then the musical chairs will stop for the P2.

Alignment/expansion will be only at the other conferences.

When you post something actually worth being constructive on

And hello irony like from @Angry Ibis who must have no mirrors
I can only hope, one day, to be as a respected voice as yourself.

Yes, I was thinking the 2nd half of your prediction coming true. The best of the ACC and Big XII go to the P2 conferences. What's left in the Big XII becomes tier 2 because I think they will be the stronger league once the elites move onto the P2 and Yormark is light years a better conference commish than Phillips. I think he'll get the Louisville's, Pitt's, and other mid tier ACC teams to fill out the Big XII and the ACC will backfill with the AAC and become Tier 3. The rest of the minor conferences making up the rest.

I will still hold out hope that some executive shows the conferences what could be done financially and for the good of the game itself in a formal reorganization, but it is doubtful.

Helps their SOS, fans love it, doesn't hurt their path to the ACCCG, and let's the revenue be roughly equal to their peers with an easier path to the playoffs. Win win win.

Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot that the experts guaranteed Miami would be in the BigTen by 2023. My bad.
My expert said it would be 2034.

Which Penn St. board is this on?

Any link(s)?

No insider or expert by any means, but I wholeheartedly expect UM to be in a different conference home by the 2027 football season ('28 at the very latest). The only potential holdup imo is a collapse (either by legal or political means) of the rev share model

You would be as wrong as the others

Just like that pesky GOR being unbreakable and ironclad until 2036 right? Dont let those pesky facts get in the way of your gloating about fake posters or claims that never happened. Also everyone knows that, like recruiting, realignment information is linear and no outside factors can impact timelines or results after someone is told something.
