As far as the TIER RANKINGS ... that is the opinion of the 3 guys that run the Big 12 Mafia podcast. They don't have the full list of the 4 "short list" candidates currently in talks ... they have only been told that ND is one school and that Miami "is currently not" but they do believe Miami is a primary target as far as the OVERALL REALIGNMENT picture is concerned with the B10 due to the fact that at least some of the schools the B10 IS interested in will not be available due to the SEC stepping in. Miami is too valuable to lose.

They absolutely could, I don’t think anyone is denying that.

But what we are talking about here is more than football. It is academics, it is brand, it is an entire athletic department, it is an entire body of work cultivated over decades. UCF cannot just snap their fingers and suddenly be equivalent to UM (or frankly, any of the Big 3 Florida schools) within the timeline discussed for the next conference realignment.

Not sure I'm following- Stanford fired their coach, did add a GM but are working with an interim coach. And the one thing I would bet whatever I have on is that Stanford will never wawnt to be known for being a football powerhouse over being arguably the best academic school in the land. Their identity means everything to them.

Andrew Luck as new GM and John Donahoe, as AD, who just left as CEO of Nike. That is laying the foundation for relevancy in sports, potentially football IMO.

That was mandated by ESPN to alter/extend the contract .... ND plays Miami, Clemson, FSU much more than every other ACC team.

Yes. Should Miami, Clemson, or FSU get the official call they are going to the B1G or SEC, the first call to be made after that will be from that school to ND to cancel the contract.
