I would think he has some major connections not only in the political world but with powerful people in general. I also want us to go to the B1G so that could be clouding my judgement

For the record, I didn’t listen, I just read the title and want it to be true so I’m buying it lol

I really like the idea of a premier/relegation model for cfb in particular. If you want to compete at the highest level put your money where your mouth is. If you don't then go compete at a lower level. It would establish competition and downgrade the schools who are benefitting from the conference they are in but are not adding value/competition.

In a system like that i can see schools like Vandy/Northwestern/WF being downgraded while schools like TT and SMU will rise. And I'm ok with that - let the schools who want to compete have the opportunity to compete.

My man would fit right with the butt-hurt Nole morons who actually "think" FSU is going to the B1G.

Here's ESPN Pete Thamel 18 months ago on the GameDay podcast:

"I would think the SEC would be happy to sit at 16 for a while because they really like their footprint. There's enough intimacy. They have a region right now. The only thing that disrupts that is if they have to play defense because they don't want the Big Ten to come into their region.

"Is that Florida State? Is that North Carolina, which is coveted. Virginia, which is coveted. I think the ranking — and people at Florida State and Clemson don't like to hear this — but it's North Carolina, Virginia, Clemson and Florida State. Or maybe Florida State (No. 3) instead of Clemson because they bring more eyeballs and TV sets. Those schools are in the crosshairs."

If/when the U.S. Congress can push through the legislation Sankey and Petitti are wanting, the SEC will eventually poach:

1. UNC
2. UVA
3. FSU
4. Clemson
5. NC State
6. VA Tech
7. Duke
8. GA Tech

The top 2 are the only guarantees there.

Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina still want to be the only state-schools (in their respective states) in the SEC.

As for NC St, VaTech, and Duke, I wouldn't put a lot of stock in those schools just yet. I definitely don't see ANY conference that will take 3 schools from North Carolina.

I've already said this, if the SEC can settle the "1-school" squabbles and GO JUMBO, this is the way that they lock the Big 10 out of the southeast forever:

1. Miami
2. F$U
3. GaTech
4. Clemson
5. North Carolina
6. NC State OR Duke
7. UVa
8. VaTech

One, MAYBE two private schools, and six or seven state schools. For the record, as UM continues to increase the size of the undergrad and grad populations (especially after the two new towers are built across US-1 from the Metrorail station), UM will be almost as large (student-body-wise) as Ole Miss and Mississippi State. Not a joke. Absolute truth.

Whether the SEC can figure this out, I have no idea. But that 8-pack would eviscerate the Big 10's Southern Strategy and lock every other conference out forever.

Man that would be a freaking conference and a half. Holy crap the competition would be FIERCE.

That’s fantastic. I didn’t realize that we had that kind of projected growth coming up. Do you know when the towers are projected to be completed?

Not sure on timing.
