Don't waste your money. The problem is when you put in your set temperature, the device kicks in, and then will start blowing air till it hits set temp, THE BIG PROBLEM, is that the coals continue to heat up, and up, and up.
I first set up at 225, went up to 350, so I lowered it to 175, went up to 300, and as we know it takes forever to lower the temp on the egg.

Interesting. We ended up purchasing a different one, and it worked really well. My husband said it was way easier this time, and I do think this came out better.

Article mentioned that "two power 4 programs" were involved ... wonder which programs are selling their soul to the devil to raise $$ to compete? What power do they give up to "investment bankers"?

EDIT .... Penn State and UCLA are the "first two schools to sign up" with Elevate. Wow. Interesting.

I have relatives that live up there. Most of the state is just empty nothingness, particularly around State College. Pedo State is located HOURS away from Philly and Pittsburgh, and if anyone can name any prominent "deep pockets" Pedo State alum/booster, I would be impressed. I just don't think they have much in the way of non-game-day revenue.

Pedo State is pretty bad at basketball. In the past SIXTY years, they have made the NCAA Tournament 5 times. Two losses in the first round. Two losses in the second round. And ONE Sweet Sixteen, which they promptly lost. That was in 2001.

If it's possible, Pedo State is even worse at baseball. The last time they made the College World Series was 1973. They made the regionals in 1974, 1975, and 1976...except they won ONE GAME COMBINED in those three regionals. The ONLY OTHER TIME that Pedo State has made the baseball post-season since 1976 was in 2000, when they won a regional and then lost in the Super-Regional to Texas, who made it to Omaha.

The merchandise? Who wants to buy a bunch of black and white clothing? The state population growth is almost nil. There just aren't a lot of good reasons to plow money into Pedo State athletics.

And the stadium is aging. Players cost money. Coaches too.

It’s not nearly as bad as our biased posters are making it out to be. **** Penn State but it’s pretty hilarious reading it.

NEPA would be a mix of ND and PSU with some fans of out of state programs that hate those two.
 
I went to a game there, spent the weekend. This was just before they tore down Joe Pa's Statue. I got some pictures of it. I had to drive over a mountain. The town is in a Valley at the foot of Mount Nittany, Nittany Valley. They nicknamed, Happy Valley. The town is pretty much the campus. It is part of the Appalachian's. Their is nothing else around. The way I drove in took me over a mountain, I would guess over a hour of nothing. That was long ago, so details are foggy. I think you can get over Mount Nittany in about 20 minutes. This was probably 2001. I still remember, once I crossed the mountain again leaving, I got gas at the 1st gas station over the mountain. The employee pumped my gas in 2001. I am sure a bunch of people on this board didn't know, their was a time, employees pumped customers gas, everywhere.
 
If true, since PSU and UCLA are public institutions, would these agreements be available for public record? I'd love to see the detail as to what power the PE would have and what is the range of their power in the athletic department (only football, basketball as well, the whole athletic department)?

One thing is for sure, private equity expects to make money on its investments. It would be interesting to see how they would do that as the current model followed by most schools is anything but profitable.

Full service was phasing out 50 years ago. Pretty much gone in the '80's. If you want to feel nostalgic, get your gas in NJ.
