Have my doubts about UVA to the SEC. Virginia's governor weighed heavily having VaTech invited to the ACC so as not to have their two schools in different conferences back in 2004. Stretches the belief they would now allow that scenario to play out.
But then again who knows what is going to happen.

Not going to refute any of that, but I would say the political and sports landscape is vastly different over 20 years later than it was in 2004. Then, regional play and rivalries meant a bit more. With the downfall of the Pac-12 and the traditional Big XII, and with the inevitability of the P2, states are going to want to have representation in these conferences, even if that means splitting schools. I know NC legislature is trying to control the process, but if push comes to shove with UNC being in or out and NC State's attachment risking that, they will do what's best for their blueblood program.

Is there reason to believe we will see announcements this offseason?
All depends on the networks and they aren't saying anything publicly. Obviously several teams would like to be able to move effective the 2026 season. Main media partners (FOX / ESPN) would prefer to wait until we are closer to their new media deals ... but some of the FOX media partners are pressuring for "some better games to broadcast" in their slots ... so we will see.

Nope. The NCAA has to settle first. Congress is already involved. Government moves slow on stuff like this.

Just keep in mind, that every B1G school in the AAU voted for Miami and Notre Dame to join the AAU. Research and admin are involved in billions in long term funding with all B1G schools already.

Miami has all these scenarios in front of them to make it the biggest thing to happen to the University for 100 years of existence and at the same time: Hired JD Arteaga and an inexperienced Assistant Coach for Men's Basketball...

There is a disconnect somewhere.

I say this knowing it will never happen but…

CFB is FUBAR. Let all division 1 programs align with NFL teams like minor leagues in MLB. Each NFL team gets 3 D1 teams in a one off draft. That’s the equivalent of AAA, what’s left is AA.
The NFL drafts high school kids to their farm system. The kids get paid and under contract. No transfer portal BS.
The schools don’t have to pay players and split the revenue from attendance, merchandise and TV rights with the NFL.

I want you to look at it this way my friend...

Yes, the Football Lord does hate you. That is why he will ENSURE you live to watch the next 30 years of Hurricane football squander the #1 offense or #1 defense and always come up 1 game/1 play short of making the ACCCG and CFPO.

You're welcome for the clarity I provide free of charge.
