We can leave whenever we want. But, we wouldn't want to leave without having something better lined up. A B1G invite would do it, an agreement with Amazon that pays off what we owe and pays close to B1G/SEC money would do it (assuming they find a good home for the rest of the sports), etc. 2030 is just the time when the price of leaving drops and when new tv contracts are being negotiated. My best guess is any announcements for expansion come around 2028 so the conferences can encourage higher bids for their tv contracts with new members.
