Conference Championship Saturday

Maybe I’m reading too much into this but ESPN putting such a huge focus on Miami > ND today between CGD and this broadcast, you gotta feel like they’re trying to justify the incoming flip…
or trying to push a flip.... I can't figure out if the Committee is working on their own or if they are being influenced. Someone said it a few posts earlier; could be ESPN wants Miami and the Committee is holding out for ND

Now we need Duke to beat Virginia. I don’t think it’s needed to jump Notre Dame, but it would definitely help us even more. Everyone knows they aren’t putting Duke in, but at the end of the day I do think they want at least 1 representative from each conference and we’d make the most sense.

Alabama is not missing the playoffs as SEC#1 seed.. lol.. We need them to win..
I understand the cynicism, but say Alabama loses by 24pts. Are they really going to put a 3 loss team that has been playing poorly and is coming off a whipping in over 2 loss teams playing well? Maybe so, but that one is going to be harder to explain than putting ND in over Miami.

Then JMU gets in. It is a joke.

IMO, It’s like politics. ESPN/CFP partnership is where the money is. If they want Miami in, they’ll tell those AD’s Miami is in. The committee falls below the partnership on the totem pole

The networks need to be pushing Miami to show that big games early in the season mean something. Otherwise they will be broadcasting a lot of big schools beating up on Mercer, Austin Peay etc for the first month of the year until conference play starts. It’s terrible for CFB to say head to head is less relevant than a big win over a garbage program like Syracuse in the final weeks.

I think if Bama wins this game, Miami is in. I’ve said it since Tuesday night. BYU loss and Bama win, Miami is in. I’m also ready to be laughed off the board for that take. But I’m 10 toes down.
I missed this , you finally came around you mope ? Lol
