Conference Championship Saturday

No. They are totally invested in propping up the ostensible integrity of the committee. This is narrative setting.

Media is so decentralized and autonomous that it's hard for me to believe ESPN is behind recent positions taken by their on-screen talent.

Bama -3000, ND -520, Miami +270 (FanDuel)

Lots of money to be made if y'all think we're getting in

Ok so do we for sure want a Bama win (unless UGA could somehow make it a blow out, though I'm sure Bama would likely still get in)?
there is 0% chance to bama being left out

there is at least a realistic chance that bama is a buffer between us and ND if they lose

best result is a close bama win, ensures bama jumps up and UGA doesn't drop too far for losing close

I just turned it off. I don't think we will see Francis, Bain, etc. play again in a Canes uniform. Season is basically over in my eyes. If we make it in, great. I don't expect it after watching them discuss two G5 teams getting in with a Duke win.
Two G5 teams have to get in with a Duke win. Doesn’t affect Miami.

But I agree season over

It “shouldn’t” matter if Bama drops between us and ND… we can and still should flip spots with them… step 1) BYU out after this game… 2) We are adjacent to ND so the flip happens… 3) Bama loses this evening and drops a spot
Totally agree with you here. That’s how the committee should do it in the event Bama loses a close loss or gets blown out.

1) BYU gets blown out for a second time forces the committee to put Miami at 11

2) Analysis of Miami vs ND: neither team played today so H2H moves Miami to 10 and ND to 11

3) Analysis of number 9 Bama vs 10 Miami. Did Bama get blown out that merits them being bumped down to 10 and Miami to 9? I doubt it since Bama beat UGA but who cares we’re in.
