Do they matter ?

It will sound like sour grapes after the ACC took a beating today, but no, it means nothing, not good or bad.

Not saying it factored into the games today any more for the ACC than others, but too many guys opt out at the end of the season either for the pros or the portal if the team isn’t a playoff team.


All that said the ACC is absolute ******* ***.

Not much at all but it can’t hurt to have a good bowl record. I do however think that winning the bowl game is fairly important to an individual program.

It matters for everyone but the SEC. The ACC is just dog**** and days like today are used against the whole conference.

In the day and age of opt-outs? The lower bowls mean nothing.

Regular OOC games and playoff games are the true measure of conferences. And the number of OOC games will be reducing significantly starting next year.

Conference bowl records only matter when promoting a narrative either for or against a conference. But ultimately, no!

Perception matters, so yes. I agree with all the points the other posters have made, especially about players opting out. However, when you are coming in as conference number #4 in the power4, then perception matters.

The ACC is 6-5 against the sec this year. They wanted 6 teams in. Yes they matter (but only against sec)

I was waiting for someone to bring it up after yesterdays acc teams getting beat. None of it matters anymore. Between the 12 team playoff, opt-outs and portal, it has made regular bowl games useless. And im just waiting on sponsors to figure out there is no ROI on them.
