Complete Week 14 Rooting Guide

I mean. It necessarily, it’s just not happening, cause either way they’re not losing to both WVU and BYU. It WOULD guarantee that only one B12 team is in CFP…
Yeah I think it is extremely low probability that WVU beats them, but they have been playing much better and Rich Rod a good spoiler coach (a long time ago tbf). I wonder if TTU would even win a potential 3-way tiebreaker with Utah and ASU to make the Big12-cg in that scenario? Utah beat ASU, ASU beat TTU, and TTU beat Utah.

My doomer worry has been stuff breaks our way for at large then TTU lays down against BYU in Big12-cg so they get two bids and we get screwed. So any way to avoid that I am rooting for.

As far as I can tell this is our Complete Rooting Guide sorted by time. Legit any game that possibly helps us in any minor way I listed. How many ">" designates Importance though:

Thursday:
- Memphis > Navy *** Helps USF make the AmericanCCG ***

Friday Slate:
- Mississippi St >>> Ole Miss *** A loss here legit can/will knock Ole Miss out of CFP. Bad schedule, AND Kiffin leaving ***
- Kansas > Utah *** Weaken BYUs Best win ***
- GTech >> UGA *** Increases ACCs Strength relative to SEC, and weakens Bamas Best Win, UGA still a CFP lock ****
- Temple > North Texas *** Helps USF make AmericanCCG ***
- Utah St > Boise St *** Weakens NDs SOR ***
- Texas A&M >> Texas *** A&M Is locked in to the CFP no matter what. Don't want Texas to have an argument to get in ***
- ASU > Arizona *** Weaken BYUs 2nd best win ***

Saturday Early:
- Miami >>>>>> Pitt *** Ideally we absolutely Murder them ***
- Ohio St >> Michigan *** Ohio St is locked in the CFP no matter what. Don't want Michigan to have an argument to get in ***
- TTU > WVU *** TTU is locked in the CFP no matter what. Also just pre-emptively we NEED them to beat BYU in the B12 Champ game too ***
- Louisville >> Kentucky *** Strengthens our Loss, and Increases ACCs Strength relative to SEC ***
- Clemson > South Carolina *** Increases ACCs strength relative to SEC ***
- FAU > East Carolina *** Helps USF make American CCG and Weakens BYUs SOR ***
- UCF >>>> BYU *** This would be Very Big for Miami At-Large consideration ***

Saturday Late:
- Syracuse >> Boston College *** Some ACCCG Tie Breakers for us require Cuse to beat BC ***
- Washington >> Oregon *** I think Oregon / B1G is solidified to have 3 teams. But there's hope at least ***
- LSU >>>>> OU *** NEED someone ranked within 5 spots ahead of us to lose ***
- UTenn >> Vandy *** Vanderbilt is ranked closer to us, so better for them to lose ***
- Wake Forest >>>> Duke *** Big Miami ACCCG Tie Breaker Game ***
- FSU > UF *** Increases ACCs Strength relative to SEC ***
- Vech >>>>> UVA *** CRITICAL Miami ACCCG Tie Breaker Game ***
- USF >> Rice *** USF must win this to make AmericanCCG, then they need tie-breakers ***
- Auburn >>>>> Alabama *** NEED someone ranked within 5 spots ahead of us to lose ***
- UCLA >>> USC *** SIGNIFICANTLY weakens Notre Dames AND Oregons BEST Win / SOR ***
- NCSt >>> UNC *** Some ACCCG Tie Breakers for us NCSt to beat UNC ***
- Cal >>> SMU *** This become 10x more critical IF UVA wins Earlier ***
- Stanford >>>> Notre Dame *** Not Happening But would be Insane ***
If vt wins and Duke losses were in the acc championship right ?

Great work, Cali. Thank you for doing this.

Also, if Lane is actually serious about the LSU or Florida job, he should take it Sunday or Monday. Signing day is in a week, the portal window is coming up(this needs to get fixed). These schools are going to want to get their coach hired soon. If Lane is gone, the committee will likely knock them out of the playoffs. They did it to FSU when Travis got hurt, so they should use the same logic here
Chairman said yesterday they won’t knock Ol Miss if lane leaves.

I have not been following this too closely obviously, but in the incredibly unlikely chance that georgia loses to GT, and then loses in the SEC final, wouldn't they be out?

They had an opportunity to see FSU play two games without Travis. Ole Miss will not have played a game without Kiffin.

That's a pretty silly standard though. Especially since Kiffin calls the plays and I presume designs them too. They didn't need to see the 2 bums from FSU play to know FSU was cooked. They also don't need to see Ole Miss play without Kiffin to know they're cooked too.

That's just what Hunter said.

I realize that. Tbc, I'd be fine if their standard that only results on the field matter were applied consistently. We'd be ranked ahead of ND and likely a lock for the playoff if we beat Pitt. But that's not what they're doing. They're claiming they can't project Ole Miss without their coach, but they can project that ND is better than we are now despite the fact that we beat them h2h.

Of course but that was said in response to the whole Kiffin leaving/Travis getting injured.
