Comparing Mark Richt's Staffs at UGA and The U

You've made up your mind. It's ok. Why bother coming in and ****ting all over everyone else's hope that we're going to be better? If you're that settled that he sucks, just let it be and come talk **** when the games are played.

There is 0% chance that we're in the same or worse shape than we were before. 0%. Any argument to the contrary is just trying to stir the pot.

Head Coach: Mark Richt

Offensive Coordinator/QBs- UGA: Schottenheimer ; Miami: Richt.....advantage Miami
Defensive Coordinator- UGA: Pruitt ; Miami: Diaz......advantage UGA
Defensive Line- UGA: Rocker ; Miami: Kool.......advantage Miami
Offensive Line- UGA: Sale ; Miami: Searles......advantage Miami
Tight Ends- UGA: Lilly ; Miami: Hartley......advantage UGA
Running backs- same coach......push
Secondary- UGA: Pruitt ; Miami: Rumph/Banda.......advantage UGA
Wide Receivers- UGA McClendon; Miami: TBD......
Linebackers- UGA: Ekeler/Sherrer ; Miami: Diaz......push

Overall, seems to be a push.

For a guy who perennially underachieved, and then got fired, I'm just curious what exactly is going to transform him into a title winning coach at Miami with an equivalent staff?

Oh and btw, Miami had the harder SOS this past season, and UGA played only 3 true road games the entire season, as well as three non P5 cupcakes.

Can someone rationally explain to me how he is going to take the large jump up to a championship winning coach?
Well we do have Saint Mark in charge instead of the Golden Devil...Patience with a little bit of faith cures all....

Look in the last 10years there have only been 5 coaches who have won it all. He is no longer in the SEC and we have a much better staff than before. If we would have had his staff last 2 years we would have probably won an ACC title already and set up much better. I get it you don't like Richt its cool but lets not pretend we are not much better off. Let me guess you probably wanted Butch back? He hasn't coached in a long time and in the ACC at UNC he never won anything close to a championship. Things have changed since 1999-2002 no guarantee Butch would be the same coach. Or whoever you wanted (if it wasnt Butch) unless it was Saban same thing can be said for a lot of people.

Who cares that he was in the SEC? His schedule was easier than what Miami's was, and UGA plays 3 cupcakes a year, only 3 true road games a year, and the SEC East is a joke.

Secondly, the goal wasn't to be better than the last staff. That could be accomplished by hiring Randy Shannon and Mark Whipple again; the "be better than Al" bar is unbelievably low. I want to be Miami again. I want to win titles. I want to crush teams.

Thirdly, I wasn't a BBB. Ask Far Archer or CaneDynasty. Check my posting history, it's all there. However, I did say that if it came down to Butch vs Richt, I'd take Butch ahead of Richt. But then, there were a lot of coaches I would have taken over a burned out underachiever who turned us down multiple times over the years until he found himself kicked to the curb and then suddenly loved his alma mater again.
PATIENCE PLEASE..

Why does everyone feel the need to engage OP on this level? The "CONVINCE ME" angle reeks of a insecuruty complex. Why should anyone care enough about how you feel to convince you of anything, and why the grandiose self delusional display and exclamation that people should want to convince you of anything?

I myself wasn't incredibly enthused by the Mark Richt hiring, largely because I ideally wanted something different from an offensive philosophy than what he offered historically. But then he was hired. Now, I can choose to be a whiny ****ant about every incremental decision he makes, or I can disengage emotionally, view the moves from a practical, fair perspective, especially when I know that I don't know everything relative to the formation of a winning outfit, at least not as much as the figure making decisions. I have my own ideas, sure, but I recognize a reasonable limit.

I can appreciate the gimmick OP has chosen to go with. It can be healthy as a discussion point at times, but it's morphed into this irrational, uninteresting, unsophisticated, small minded caricature.

Being critical is fine and fair, but you don't have to be a **** poster in the process.

More of this and less of the weak bull**** please.

I agree with you on the Diaz hire being terrible. But who/what better option did we have (realistically) better than Richt? Maybe he gets us to the promise land, maybe he doesn't. And no I'm not content with just 10 game win seasons. But at least I won't be as miserable as I have been this year losing to Cincinnati and UNC (which added insult to injury as they threw the U up then down every time they scored).

Maybe those ten wins will turn into 11 and maybe 11 will turn into 12. Bottom line is that it is not going to happen overnight. The more we win the better recruits we will attract. Ultimately with a little guidance, great players are what will win us championships...Ask Larry Coker.

What's the point? You've clearly made up your mind.

Let's just wait and see what happens.

I'd love for someone to convince me otherwise. Show me how he is going to magically become a title winning coach.

He's not going to magically become a title winning coach. You win. Will you stop whining now?

Softer schedule this coming year

Better qb (you conveniently left out that UGA has no qb)

Miami hasn't won 10 games or more in over a decade

Haven't won a bowl since 2006 against Nevada by one Pont

Miami hasn't won a road game against a ranked team since 2009

Please explain to us how this is not an upgrade

LOLOL ah I see another soft shoulder dude who's expectation for Miami are "to be better". Likely another millennial who only cares about participation trophies.

THE GOAL IS TO WIN NATIONAL TITLES. TO BE THE BEST. If that ain't your goal, you ain't a Canes fan.

Unless you were hiring Saban or Meyer, which would have been impossible, stop the bellyaching

Lets just hope we can look back on these hires after the next 30 for 30 special and say "****, that was one of the best staffs in history"

OP: What do you really want? Starting "Fire Mark Richt" campaign already? It is utterly incomprehensible to do anything at this time other than wait and see, and give the man a chance. I understand you don't like the hire but despite your misgivings about him, he is a well respected and accomplished coach who we never had since maybe Jimmy Johnson. Do you want a coach who already won NC before? Get real.

The 4 coaches we had, who won NC's for us didn't win one before coming here so why you are applying different standards now?

Seeing that nobody has ever won a title at UGA without Herschel Walker on the team, I give Richt a pass on not winning a National title there. UGA isn't even close to a national powerhouse program. And he won 150 games there. He now is at a program that actually can win titles with a decent coach.

Last time I checked it's players that make the plays on the field to win games. It's a cumulative effort by everyone. Maybe Richt wins a championship here maybe not but as of today the program is in a better state. And when he gets done here it will be in a good place.

NOT EVEN

Dude was 1 ******* play from it. If that Georgia receiver hadn't dropped the ball they would've had another play at the what? 15?

Really fear that Richt is going from "UFs Butt Boy" to "FSUs Butt Boy". Dudes whole career is defined by losing big games with a smile.

Championship? Miami has never even won the coastal or acc and you talking about championship. Last time miami won 10 games i was in 6th grade. This team is a ways away from a championship so you don't have to worry about that for a while.

Guy was 1 play away from probably winning the NC in 2012. That's bull****
he was one play away what are you talking about?? The got to the 8 yard line with 15 secs and when Aaron Murray dropped back the pass got tipped and it floated in the air until Chris Conley caught it at the three with 4 secs left...the score was 32-28 and they would have scored on the next play because if it wasn't tipped Chris Conley would've gone out of bounds as soon as he caught it

Why isn't the OP comparing Golden's last staff to Richt's first here at Miami?

That's the comparison that actually matters.
