Committee Chair just addressed ND over Miami

Nope. They can’t drop UGA all the way to 10. And there’s no one else to drop.
The committee just magically bumped up Bama, OU, and Ole Miss, proving they can do whatever they want with zero explanation. That tells you everything you need to know. Yurachek says the debate between Notre Dame and Alabama "has split the committee” but not Miami…

It’s over.

Someone said earlier in another thread that the CFP has been rigged since September and they we're right on the money. These people already knew who they wanted to be in the playoffs, who they wanted ranked where when and for how long. College football is dying of very quick death and unless someone steps in and fixes this mess call which I doubt will ever happen, then it will continue to be on its downhill slide.

As far as the ACC is concerned, this conference has dry rotted already and it just needs to go away forever. It’s full of tobacco road good ol boys who never liked Miami from day one and are continuing to show their disdain for Miami Given the commissioner has not spoken one word or has even shown his face to make any type of stand at all.

He said it. If/when we are 10-11 H2H will matter because we will be back to back.

Now whether he is lying through his teeth is another matter.
I think most people are just overlooking BYU. You have to make a case for us being over them. If BYU has wins over AŽ and Houston that’s two ranked wins. We can *****, whine and complain but we only have one. BYU’s lone loss is to TT. The #4 team. If they lose convincingly again then you can say BYU is a really good team, but a tier below the playoffs.

Remove BYU from the equation it just becomes us vs ND. Either us or BYU who gets in imo. I’d nervous as **** if I was a ND fan. BYU losing close could warrant them jumping ND. BYU losing handily puts ND square in the H2H crosshairs. I could be delusional but that’s my opinion on this.

It’s rigged since SEC, Big X and ND agreed to this new playoff deal. It’s their party and we are their guests. Miami and its fans need to understand and accept this.

It’s always some new goalpost that gets moved for only us

Before this 4 game win streak we were beat down because we weren’t controlling games/blowing out teams

Then you see teams like Bama and BYU struggle to win against inferior teams yet hold or move up

**** this playoff committee… never would have wanted the computers back from the BCS after 2000 but **** they could take opinion and feelings out of the decisions

Aye CFP committee!!!

It over. We are not getting in regardless of BYU, Bama, or any other scenario.

Half the playoff teams could fall of the face of the earth and they still won’t put us in.

There is a clear agenda and it’s more obvious Everytime that clown AD from Arkansas opens his mouth.

And shame on the ACC leadership. This conference is a laughing stock. We’ve been getting railroaded for 20 years!

Gotta go 13-0 to make it
That didn't work for FSU.

And once again they are back peddling. When FSU was bounced it was because they lost their QB and results didn't matter. Now that Ole Miss loses their coach, not only do they not get bounced, but they go up a spot. The reasoning? Because their play on the field earned it. Conveniently removing the precedent they set for FSU. This whole thing reeks of SEC mafia control.

Yup. Man, I can’t believe I’m allowing myself to even think about this. I gotta be the biggest mark alive. A true dumb ****.

I didn’t even watch cause I knew we’d be 12 and be out. But I didn’t think they’d drop ND to 10. That was totally unnecessary, but what it does now is moves Miami and ND within 2 spots.

The chair said they’re not comparing ND and Miami DIRECTLY. And I kinda see the point. But guess what happens if Bama and Texas Tech win? ND doesn’t move, but BYU drops (they have to, right?). Now Miami and ND are DIRECTLY compared. They’re right next to each other. Can you really have the ultimate data point, head to head on the field, and have the resumes so similar that the teams are directly next to each other, and NOT put the team that won on the field ahead?

Someone please come to my house with a steel toed boot and kick me right in the sack for even entertaining this bull****. Thank you.
right there with ya, baby doll

I was on FT with a buddy during the rankings. I got ****ed when we didn’t move. He talked me off the ledge when ND dropped. Now I’m drinking the kool aid again. I’m either dying in Jonestown or making it out alive at this point.

This isn’t correct. They put the G5 teams into the bracket. They do not put them into the 11th and 12th spots in the poll.

There is a chance next week, if BYU loses, that ND is 10 and Miami is 11. And if that’s the case, do they flip them? Of course not, because whoever has my voodoo doll runs it thru a woodchipper on the daily, but could there honestly be anything worse for the integrity of the sport?
I was just about to ask. So is that true? They just slot into the spots in the bracket but not the ranking correct

why is Notre Dame ranked two spots ahead of Miami when the Canes have the head-to-head win … and can being back-to-back in the rankings help Miami if it comes down to that with a potential BYU loss?

“The head-to-head is one data point that the committee will use,” Yurachek said. “It’s easier to use when the teams are back-to-back as opposed to separated by a team or two or three as has been the case. Notre Dame is a winner of 10 straight, 10 game win streak, they outscored their opponents 440-143, have been very consistent offensively in how they run and pass, very explosive offense, third in offense. And a BYU team between them is 11-1. Their record strength metrics are really, really high. They have a win over 15th ranked Utah and 18th Arizona. And their metrics rank really, really high as well. And Miami when we had our first poll they came in losers of two of three games, were inserted at 18. They climbed faster than any other team up six spots, have won four consecutive games.
“The committee still felt like right now Notre Dame deserves to be ranked ahead of BYU and Miami, and BYU deserves to be ranked ahead of Miami.”

The boldest part is important but also screws us because we won’t ever be back to back. Next week we are either 10 or 13. No poll will come out where we are 11 and they are 10. 11 next week turns into Virginia or James Madison.
Where was this quote from?

Or Notre Dame moves up above Bama when they lose

I see it has byu loses and bama loses we are in. If byu just loses it puts us at 11 while ND is at 10 and now let it burn because if they don’t flip us ahead of ND that sends a clear message to the CFB that H2H doesn’t matter so don’t schedule good teams you don’t have to.
