Danilo Janovich:
#44 SF
#3 player is Wisconsin #2 SF
6’7 200lbs
Future: 3/4 hybrid player.
After watching much of his film (3-4games plus highlights) I’ve changed my opinion of him. I'm only going to use clips from 2 games and 2 highlight reels. He was easily the easiest to find film on. I wasn’t high on him at first, but I’ve come to like him as a prospect. Let me first say that Whitnalls jerseys are gorgeous and that I’m not sure what the level of competition is in Wisconsin on the high school level. He also plays with both Herro brothers. The quality of the film isn’t the best because Whitnall Handles their business and usually has the opponents blown out before halftime, in the games I watched. One game I want to see the whole film on is the game against Menomonee falls where he played against UNC commit Seth Trimble the #6 point guard and #1 player in Wisconsin. If you have that please send it to me, the highlights looked dope.

I tried to add some clips/gifs but it didn't work out so I just linked the source and added the time stamp.

Size:
I feel like he’s taller than the listed 6’7 maybe closer to 6’9. Could also be the camera angles plus long limbs, and shorter competition.

Shooting:
He has a beautiful stroke, he’s a lefty, and has a nice face-up shot. It’s not super quick and he doesn’t jump high so I’m not sure how good he will be able to get the shot off at the D1 level. He does sometimes he’s slow to take the shot, personally, I like it when players shoot it faster. But I think his shot will translate and might take a year or two.

  • 1:12-1:18: Nice looking stroke

  • 19:42-19:47: his shot looks really good, I would like it to get faster and eliminate the long wind up, that's a contested shot in the ACC.
Athleticism:
Not uber-athletic but does finish above the rim finishes lobs and moves well laterally. He does run the floor really well. And is a good lane filler.

Finishing:
He’s a good finisher, would like to see him finish through contact better. He does have a good back-to-the-basket game and likes to shoot fades, turnaround, and hop set jumpers out of the post.
5:27-5:31
  • 5:27-5:31: Makes a nice face-up jumper
  • 6:07-6:12: This shows off a nice turnaround post-shot over an overzealous defender.

  • 35:10-35:18: going a Dirk impersonation with the hop into post-fade like the defender is not there. If he adds these types of shots with better ball handling he’ll be annoying to guard.

  • 4:15-4:23: Strong finish through contact.

Dribbling and Passing:
Def can see the potential in his ball-handling skills, I think he has a high ceiling but has a ways to go to get to a D1 ball handling level. His passing is underrated, he won’t be a Sam-level passer, but makes good reads and stays within the offense, and makes the right play more times than not.

  • 18:12-18:14: Shows the potential as a ball-handler by starting the break, hitting a good spin move, but he needs to either dish it to 12 here or go up strong.
  • 27:30-27:41: Shows the potential as a break starter grabs the rebound brings it up the court and presents the threat of a drive up the middle then makes a running no-look? pass to the corner.

Attitude and work ethic:
He has a swagger lol. To me, he seems very confident and won’t run from the competition, as well as is a smart player. I would like him to be more selfish and take the high-quality shots when he has them, or attack the incoming closeout. Does seem to be very vocal. I don’t know anything about his work ethic off the court. But he plays the majority of every game and plays hard, contests every shot he can, and competes for rebounds. He also does a good job playing passing lanes and trapping. Don’t expect a defensive stopper.

  • 24:33-24:47: Shows good effort to get back and contest multiple shots, would like to see him get more physical and box out. But not much you can do when it’s 4 on 2. The guards gotta go look for work.
  • 29:30-29:50: Good effort and footwork on the perimeter as the lone ‘big’ then comes shows great competition and footwork in the post against the bigger player, blocks the shot, contests the second effort but the shot goes in. doesn’t foul but on the second effort I would like to see his hands go straight up.

  • 1:54-1:57: Slow on the help get’s dunked on
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8YjrjaEivU&ab_channel=OakCreekHighSchoolAthletics
  • 16:50-16:55: Same play different angle

All in all:
Definitely has the lowest ceiling of our commits due to athleticism, but wouldn’t be surprised if it turns out he is one of our best players. I don’t expect him to play much and maybe redshirt his freshman year. But we should keep an eye on this one.

Amazing.

Very nice write-up. I think it's interesting that he is a lefty, along with Bensley Joseph, maybe that will make them harder to guard and allow them to get their shots off more cleanly.

Post more.

Big fan of Jovanovich. He's not super athletic by any means and needs to add weight on but he's highly skilled and can stretch the floor, which means he'll have a role, even as a freshman. Will be a solid starter for us down the road.

I believe Jakai Robinson is a lefty as well. And of course, so is Jordan Miller.

---I have to see Jakai Robinson play before I can agree to this
---Jordan Miller is good from every angle known to mankind, that guy caused my eyes to bug out so many times this year
