Commentary on the state of Miami and the other Florida schools

A higher tide raises all boats đź‘€

Not really, and especially false when it comes to college football.
For example, when a Big 5 school dramatically improves their program, especially with local and instate recruiting, it always comes at a cost for at least one program nearby. So no thanks on Rising Tide theory.

Yeah, not this bull**** again.

Any legitimizing of UCF and/or USF and/or FAU, etc and putting them on the same level as UM, Turds and Holes DOES NOT HELP THE CANES AT ALL.

It was the Big 3 back when the schools were all winning National Championships.

It still was the Big 3 when UM, FSU and UF were walking around with their thumbs up their collective asses.

And it'll still be the Big 3 when these commuter and directional schools rattle off a few 10-win seasons three times in a row, finish nowhere near the Top 25 two seasons after that and return to obscurity.
There was a time FSU was an all girls school. Times change.

The buzz around UCF is real, 10 years ago they were pulling classes with nothing but 2 star and low 3 star players. Now they regularly pull 4* players and pick up quality transfer portal players. If we played UCF the past 6 years we would have been lucky to split the series, that being said nothing in the state of Florida will top the U clicking on all cylinders.
The Buzz around UCF is real??...Lol...What??

Seem to be a lot of folks on this site and elsewhere with faith in Gus Malzahn's ability to build a perennial powerhouse.

So UCF has that going for itself

Fact of the matter OP is that any CFB fan, and especially Miami CFB fans, are well aware of the subject/s contained in your commentary. There’s literally a plethora of talking heads with the same take.

I don’t believe there is currently a State of FL big 4. UCF may rise to be a power in the G5 ranks, but they have many obstacles, including historical perspectives, to overcome to even be considered a P5 program.

I get it, it’s funny because we’re conditioned but realistically they are on a better trajectory than FSU. They have a national champion head coach and are about to join the Big 12. They’re definitely going to take recruiting to the next level when they join big 12. They finished in 50’s last year. I expect that to jump to high 20’s low 30’s when they join big 12. That’s big time football
Big 12 without Texas and Oklahoma should be called the little 12.

If I remember his background, he played college football 3 years at a small school before going to play P5 his senior year. He certainly knows the game. If you’ve seen the somewhat in depth breakdowns posted on this site for gattis, Steele, and TVD he is the guy doing the breakdowns. Provides really good content imo
Yeah but can he play Striker?

Must be that central Florida weed.
I don't know about Central Fl....but SW Fla ain't no joke.....

Since 2017, they’ve signed three four star players (Going off 247) 👀. One of which was their 2021 signee who just left them to go to UCLA, another in the 2022 class, and the 2017 kid, transferred to A&M, then Alcorn St.

Malzahn being there will definitely help them regularly get 4 star players, but that hasn’t yet happened. Hopefully he’ll be an issue for UF/FSU, but that’s hasn’t happened yet, outside of them beating UF In the bowl game. Right now, UCF really is and hasn’t been a real threat to any of the top 3 schools, especially recruiting wise.

As long as UM takes care of business, we won’t have to worry about none of the other schools in the state.n

There's so much false hope from UCF fans. I feel for them. LOL

How long will the big 12 be considered a power conference though? When Texas and OU leave I don't see the other power conferences being ok with the big 12 having its champion slotted into major bowls.

What I see is teams like osu and wvu attempt to bolt to other power conferences and the other teams group together as a G5 type conference. If they're smart they'll ally with the aac and try to create a basketball super conference. That would at least strengthen its tv deal position for basketball and they can try to elevate their fb programs that way.
