Paging Patrick Nix... Is the Patrick Nix playbook laying around the Miami campus or something?

Even the commentators last night called the play before the snap. What a freakin joke. A Guaranteed 2 to 3 yard loss every time. The stinking defense knows we're running the ball when we have two tight ends in the game and M. Lewis as the one and only wideout. Does Bud Foster not watch our tapes? The guy had to be laughing so hard when he saw that formation. Why don't we just tell the other team what we are doing.

I swear, all the speed and talent on the offensive side of the ball and Miami is content with running plays like this that are designed to pick up 2 yards (at best).

I guess the idea is that our players are supposed to "out execute" the other team even if they know exactly what were doing...lulz

We were trying to emulate BC's approach maybe without necessarily considering other factors like:

a) VTech saw what BC did well against them and corrected it
b) BC has a different set of advantages than we do
c) VTech anticipated that we'd try some of the things that had worked against them and were prepared for it
d) Maybe other teams don't give away their tendencies as clearly through personnel packages b/c they simply don't have great depth

People weren't complaining about Coley before Dorsett and Duke went down, were they?

it did seem like we mixed it up once or twice with having Herb in for Malcolm. Malcolm doesn't seem 100% to anyone, so his threat is less than say a Herb to do something other than block in that formation.

I don't think anyone is still really complaining about Coley too deeply. He wasn't really the reason we lost on Saturday, unless, again, you expected him and Morris to bail us out with greatness.

Yes.

Complaints bout not not using the middle of the field, running stretch plays with a power O-line etc etc.

Personally I think he's doing fine, but I think he's hampered by an injured, scared QB. We'll see what he's like next year.

I was always concerned about what happened to our quarterback under Coley vs Fisch and I remain concerned.

I am not. Stemo is the same as he was last year. The difference is the ankle has hung around for the bulk of the season. Which further compounds the issues. I also think Morris struggles to see through the o line and even more so when "traffic" gets going in front of him. His ankle keeps us from getting some cheap first downs.

Edit: To add additional BS.

Well this I agree with, we don't have the horses to play like this.

I was, quite a few games ago. He is too conservative, you can see what's coming before it happen about 40 to 50% of the time. He is not as good as last years play caller, not yet anyway.

A question about the offense on short yardage. Have we ever run a sneak with Morris? A simple the QB keeps the ball and barrels forward for a yard.

This is not an anti Morris or Coley post or to stir ****. I just don't recall seeing it, and am wondering if I missed something related to this in Morris past (concussion, etc), because there doesn't even seem to be a remote threat of it.

Coley needs to learn to break tendencies.

2 TEs with Lewis split wide is a guaranteed run play.
