Coley is at Kaaya's house right now

All Im going to say is that this meeting went well.

Coley, in these situations, thrives...

**** I hate these cryptic posts, but then I also appreciate them.

What say you K9? Still feel good here? Objectively now, dont let your emotions or friendships cloud anything, do we have anything to worry about, or is this something we need to keep an eye on?

Lets put it this way, I wouldn't be going out to his playoff game this Friday just to see UCLA's or USC's next quarterback recruit...

:fistbump:

Will stay cautiously optimistic. Any word on on wether he thinks he can be an EE?

His father said from the beginning that Chaminade doesn't really allow for early graduation, so Ive never expected that to take place

But like you, I'm optimistic but I think UM is in good shape. Nothing I've been told has led me to believe otherwise

Some Kaaya related info...

1. UCLA recently offered a 2014 QB from Arizona. Obviously they wouldn't have done so if they were confident in landing Kaaya.

2. Kaaya's teammate that was committed to the Bruins has opened up his recruitment and I doubt he ends up in there class. He was recruiting Kaaya hard.

I think we are good shape.

Eh.

Honestly, its looking more and more like USC is the big threat. UCLA has been the "other" school in SoCal for a long time. USC is the top dog. I think USC is the school we really need to worry about. UCLA he's always sort of been "whatever" about. But USC he seems to really be thinking hard about. Just have to hope that Sarkasian has other QB plans, and maybe people get in his ear that Sarkasian never really recruited him or offered him before. IMO this is a battle with USC.

was just reading the ucla board. seems like a few people don't think he is a fit there since he isn't mobile and they run a read option.

Not really. He grew up a UCLA fan and made it known that was the offer he wanted when we first offered him.

SC is big here and still a threat though obviously. We'll see.

Most of the SC/UCLA fans I talk to aren't real high on him for some reason (probably cause he's leaving the state). All they talk about is the 2015 Cali QB class (Josh Rosen in particular).

not really concerned about USC. they have yet to contact him and the main recruiter for Kaaya (Coach O) left. Plus they are running that Pistol offense. Not suitable to Kaaya's skillset

He was probably there to tell him they are pulling his scholarship and offering Treon Harris his spot at QB because a CiS poster, who may or may not be Treons mentally challenged brother Tim, told everyone Treon was better and the next Johnny Football.

I want Kaaya. I think he will RS, and it would be a great thing for him. He needs a year to perfect his mechanics and be bought along. IMO Williams will be the starter next year, with Baby Jesus getting more and more reps as he gets his sea legs under him. Its the BEST way for us to bring along a young QB, the way it should be done. Kaaya's ceiling is sky high.

Seriously who cant love our recruiters

No matter what no one can say there not out there busting their asses and trying

That's why Im not buying into this "its a failure if kid X goes to school Y" cr@p.

It would be a shame and a tragedy, but the staff is doing EVERYTHING it can do. These guys are NOT being outhustled or out worked. If, in the end, a kid chooses another school for their own reasons, well, there is only so much anyone can do. All we can ask of our staff is to leave it all out there on the battlefield and do all they can, and they are doing it.

NO ONE is outworking this staff on the recruiting trail right now. This is a currently unranked, small private school, that hasnt been relevant in a decade, fighting it out with the biggest and best programs in the nation right now for top recruits. This isnt Coker recruiting a bunch of overhyped paper tigers off some recruiting rags, or Shannon ignoring half the schools in SoFla and bringing in a bunch of projects and duds, these guys are finding real gems out there and leaving NO stones unturned. If we go down, it wont be because we got out hustled on the recruiting trail.
Are you suggesting you can't call it a fail if you tried hard? No reason it can't be both. There are no medals for effort in CFB.

**** heres what that ****** from the UCLA board said about Kaaya. Sounds like this idiot doesn't realize that Kaaya clearly is a "special" QB considnering he just led his team to a State Championship and is also a member of the Elite 11...

I know you guys mean well BUT we don't want Kaaya. He isn't a fit. Cannott run AT ALL and we run read option. He is an adequate thrower but not special. I haven't seen the other qbs we have a shot with but Kaaya is not the right guy for UCLA or anybody really, has some tools but again, not a special arm and very passive player.
