Mizzous staff?

Yessir. To be fair, based on your handle, you probably have a lot more perspective on that program than I do.

However, what I see from the far outside is:

A coach that consistently does more with less, turns underhyped prospects in to high draft picks and All Conference players (Ealy, Golden, Sam, Hood, Wetherspoon, the little white receiver Moe, Morse, etc.) and does a pretty good job of locking down the few 5-star level recruits his area produces (Maclin, Richardson, DGB, Gabbert).

He is also the only guy in the Top 10 coaches conversation that MIGHT be able to be flipped in my opinion...he has probably maxed out that program and he is at the age where he realizes if he wants to win the big one he probably has to move along soon. Still unlikely but I just think he is the only one in that group that might hear us out.

Dude won the SEC East two years in a row despite having probably the 4th or 5th most talented team in the division.

Most of all, the defenses are tough as ****.

My biggest concern is that he has not consistently developed QBs, which is admittedly a big one.

Pinkel is >>>>> Golden, but overrated imo.

He was great at Toledo, but at Mizzou? He never won the Big12. Couldn't beat Texas. Couldn't beat A&M. Couldn't beat Oklahoma when it mattered. Lost to KU half the time, but did win his division a few times.

In the SEC he's really benefited from the planets aligning with a down stretch by UF, UT, UGA and South Carolina. Not saying he hasn't been working hard, just when those teams were decent he was 5-7.

i was touting herman over on wez late last year

strong has faded for me

no fan of cristobal. this would be an F-- hire.

one guy who is having a subpar year (for him) and who has been at his current gig 8 years so it may be time for a change of scenery for him and the team and who warrants a phone call and full court press is....John Harbaugh.

John Harbaugh.

That's swinging for the fence. I like it.

First off he is 63 years old and is being paid around 3.5-4M a year. He will retire at Mizzou IMO. Especially now that he has a True Frosh 5* QB Drew Lock starting since Mauk has been suspended. Lock looked good against SC and is much better.

He has definitely over achieved for what Missouri had been used to in the past before he got there. It took him a good 5-6 years to finally get better recruits and he has done well. He in fact had trouble beating the top tier teams and could never beat OU and Texas. He beat KU more often than KU beat Mizzou. The year KU won the Orange Bowl they had 1 loss and that was to Mizzou. Mizzou got screwed out of that game because they played in the Big 12 Championship against OU the week after and got stomped.

The SEC is a different story. They have not been able to beat the top tier teams. Auburn in 2013 beat us in the Championship pretty good and in 2014 Bama beat us by a big margin as well. They have managed to beat some perennial good SEC teams the past 2-3 years but those teams were also on down years.

I think he is an above average coach and it took him awhile to figure out how to run the program for success but not at an elite level. I would say he is about the same caliber as Bo Pelini.

He has done very well with QB's by the way (Brad Smith 3* runner, Chase Daniel 3* and best QB Mizzou ever, Blaine Gabbert 5* 1st round, James Franklin 4*, Drew Lock 5*)

In conclusion, I don't think he would even consider for the fact that he is 63, already getting paid what we could afford if not more, and is very comfy in Columbia, MO.

I would love to get someone in the 45-55 age range

Forgot about Daniel, kid was a great college player. I was always under the impression that Franklin underachieved but like I said, not as close to it as you are. I remember when they gave everyone **** back in '07, loved that team.

I personally think that coaching at Miami requires a certain "**** you" kind of attitude and his teams always seem to have it ...and that goes back to his days at Toledo. I remember when those teams were legit in the mid-late 90s.

The other thing is that, while your point about not beating the elite teams has merit, he has never had anywhere close to equal talent or equal recruiting base to those elite teams...and we are talking about historical superpowers he was competing against in Oklahoma, Texas, Alabama, etc. In the ACC he would start off with a team in the Top 3 in terms of raw talent, have a recruiting backyard wherein you can't spit without it landing on a 4 star ballin *** recruit, and really only be threatened 3 times a year by anything close to an elite opponent (FSU, Clemson/Notre Dame, Big OOC). I think he could come in and win from Day 1.

But you're right, he is probably retiring at Mizzou. But I make him tell me no before I interview anyone else.

I like some of it but this would be far superior....only Beard stays on from current staff

HC Chud
QB Steve Walsh or Ken Dorsey
TE Cristobal
OL Sullivan
WR Beard
RB Coley (but I don't think he will take demotion. Dude cannot call plays)

DC Jim Leavitt or DJ Elliot
DL Kevin Patrick
LB Barrow
DB Rumph

Give me your coaching dream list for next season. Starting with HC and working your way down.
Here's my dream list.

HC - Chud
OC - Coley (only keeping Coley based on his recruiting and player progression, he's proven he can find and develop QBs (Manuel, Winston and Kaaya, Chud calls plays)
DC - Jim Levitt
WRs - Beard
OL - Kehoe
DL - Kevin Patrick
QB - Dorsey
LB - BRING BACK Barrow!!!
DB - Bennie Blades
TE - Scott
RBs - ICE

Recruiting coordinator - Hurlie

That's my list let me hear some of your opinions.

So do most great college head coaches.

You think Urban Meyer and Nick Saban "love" recruiting? **** no.....they hate it.

That is why they hire great staffs.

They make an in home visit, seal the deal and thats it.

Al Golden has to beg kids to come to Miami because he is a terrible head coach.

It is my understanding that Chud hates recruiting.

I ain't got time for dreams.

I'm just trying to be a nightmare.

Chip Kelly
OC Chud
DC Strong
QBs Dorsey

Whoever else
