Strange move like Tim Albin last year going from Ohio ton Charlotte

Not sure what thinking is

Candle has only coached in Ohio I think
The MAC is an FCS conference at this point. Their resources are on that level. They could pay Candle, sure...but the rest of the resources to compete? Its no country for old men. Candle went 8-4 this year and has lost to Bowling Green the past two years. He's not the hot name he used to be either.

Albin moved to Charlotte last year for that reason.

But UConn?

Guess Tulane wasn’t that interested in him then?

Guess Charlotte makes some sense being in way better conference

UConn has more access to resources and Mora won there and got another job that'll put him in a spot to take advantage of a new conference. Its a possible springboard job.

College football is changing (has changed)...schools like Charlotte or Texas State or North Texas or UTSA or Rice become pieces for conference expansion as the Pac12/MWC figure themselves out as we get toward 2030 looking for new or expanding mafkets. The American will likely be looking to expand (Air Force is a rumored addition as teams like Memphis angle for BigXII or better inclusion.

Bad hire by Uconn, Candle loses a ton of games when he's a double digit favorite.
