Think Kirby Moore is the straw that has stirred Mizzou's drinkwitz (@JamesQuall lock me up, couldn't resist)
Fair. But I also think Drink is good at the roster construction part of the job. Holds his own in HS recruiting and get players out of the portal. Really has had some good talent at Mizzou

All things considered, Rhule is the best realistic option for Penn State. He went there, so he knows the culture in Happy Valley. He's a program builder. Give him resources, and he'll win a lot of games.

As a Penn State hater - don't want him there.

Rhule ain’t it.

Not sure if it's been discussed in this thread, but Cowherd had Pate on his show yesterday (or the day before) and they talked about the Franklin buyout in some depth.

We all know it was a huge number, about $50 million to be exact. What was fascinating about the discussion is that Cowherd stated he heard from his sources that the buyout was actually PAID BY ADIDAS on behalf of Penn State.

I mean, if this becomes a thing where Nike and Adidas start having direct input on the coaching staffs for their flagship programs this circus could get even crazier.

Internet rumor. 0% chance Adidas covered this 2 months into this partnership lol

There’s just no way. What was probably meant was The Adidas deal is driving the firing. The deal is most likely an incentive-heavy deal which means they can’t be losing to Northwestern.

Yeah I was shocked when he said it....but he said it. Cowherd's been around long enough and has enough equity in that industry that you can't dismiss it.

If, and it's a big if, it is true.......the bigger schools may have a built in eject button on coaching misses.

The source was a WVU reporter who has a decent relationship with one of the coaches at Penn State. I seriously doubt he had a PSU BOT as a source. I also doubt a BOT would even say that. To me it sounds like a disgruntled assistant coach or coordinator

Wild that Penn State, who fired their coach because he couldn’t win big games would be interested in hiring Matt Rhule, a guy who made his whole career on beating garbage teams and losing to anyone with a pulse. He’s like a discount version of James Franklin.

I was firmly behind them hiring Manny or Al, but now you’re starting to persuade me to believe that Rhule would be an ok choice, too.

Also, one can't overlook the reality that StatePenn is the biggest program in the northeast.
Some would argue they are the ONLY big-time program in the northeast after ND, which is located
in the midwest, but has deep ties in that part of the country.
Huge alumni base of supporters with an equal base of "subway" supporters which draws over 100K attendance for every home game.
This and the lucrative Big10 contract.
They have alot of money to throw around with/without Adidas sponsorship.
