He had Texas going in the right direction, and seemed close to having them elite. Their 3 losses last year were by 2 points to TCU, 3 points to Iowa St, and went to triple OT with Oklahoma. Their offense has been very good the past couple seasons, really just needed to tighten up the defense. They won some big games with him - UGA in 2018, blew out #12 Utah in 2019. He was also a very good recruiter. He’s coaching as an analyst with the Chicago Bears, so no buyout. My only hesitation would be all his ties have been to Texas for a while, so would need to adjust to recruiting in FL. But potentially a hidden gem option for us.

Agreed, the guy is an ace recruiter as well. I like the hire a lot.

I was saying the same thing in this thread as well. Hopefully, he is taken into consideration.

Nothing is going to happen. We lose by 30 plus to UNC and then we will see 5k in the seats the rest of the schedule.

You're really counting that year against him? The year he was thrown in as an interim hc after Tressell resigned in May of that year bc of the tattoo-gate scandal? He still went 6-6 as a first time hc without his own staff/assistants. There's no way i count that against him. Oh yeah, the coach who succeeded him was urban meyer so there's that. Not many other coaches would have gone 12-0 their first year.

I appreciate herbie starting this but I think the BOT cares even less than we all thought. If they think this is salvageable, then they just started paying attention

I don't think he flamed out, per se, he just didn't do the job we thought he'd do.

I'd interview him for sure.
