bruh, no offense, but ur str8 tripping right now. I live in Cali and I saw Concord De La Salle set the record for not losing a game. I saw Long Beach Poly smoke teams outside the state of Cali consistently. I saw Compton Dominguez smoke teams outside of Cali (shout out to my bruh Richard Sherman). I saw Matre Dei, Bishop Amat, Crenshaw, Dorsey, Serra, Notre Dame, Garfield, Harvard Westlake, Corona Centennial produce a grip of NFL players.

There's a reason why ESPN show cases Florida v. California on the grid-iron.

Top States in Order, imo:

Florida
California
Texas
Louisiana
Ohio

New Jerseyand DC is trying to crack that top 5 as well, but I got Georgia slightly behind Ohio

Kids, this is why you dont smoke crack...

obviously you don't watch or pay attention to high school football. just pay attention to the state of ohio and their football, when u get a chance. that's not a diss to georgia...but Justin Hillard (#3 ILB in the nation), Jerome Baker (#5 OLB in the nation), Dre'Mont Jones (#14 DE in the nation), Jonathon Cooper (#5 DE in the nation), Tommy Kraemer (#3 OT in the nation) are all from the state of Ohio. Stop being fooled that just b/c Georgia is a Southern State it has to produce the best talent. I mean I just named a handful of recent kids...didn't even mention Big Ben, Charles Woodson or many other great players from that state. Ohio produce beast...**** the PRO FOOTBALL HALL OF HAME IS IN CANTON, OH. I wonder why?

Georgia has 27 4/5* recruits this year and Ohio has 12. Ohio puts out good players but not like Georgia does.

Also players in the nfl by state

Florida 204
California 203
Texas 181
Georgia 114
Ohio 78

I disagree. I don't see how Penn can be in the same discussion as Cali, when they've dropped off worse than any other state that's a football power (both in talent and quality of teams). Those Penn powerhouses from 15+ years ago are almost all no longer nationally relevant.

LA metro alone, has more national powerhouses than the entire state of Pennsylvania. They also have what's known as the toughest district/conference in the country in the trinity league and the toughest playoff circuit with the Pac-5. Teams like Long Beach Poly, which have been one of this countries top producers of NFL talent, are usually bounced out of the playoffs early.

I respect your opinion Barboni. But i disagree when it comes to the talent . There is still a lot of Pennsylvania surprised me when I was staying in the Cumberland valley a year ago. Harrisburg reading Lancaster Altoona had some grown men out there. I wouldn't be surprised if Pitt challenges us every year.

Now I will say I'm my judgment from California is all based from me playing juco out in San marcos. Watching reggie bush at helix was awful. Corona had the best squad at the time they were centinial i believe. They had a running back from there that went to Hawaii with Colt Brennan.

There were like 4 or 5 schools that looked legit to me from San Diego to LA. Majority of the kids in the LA area going to the Catholic schools were on that Matt leinart Hollywood lifestyle tip. Can't really speak on the bay I do think fresno and Bakersfield have more talent than san diego. I'll know later this year though when I move to the bay and see for myself.

There are more catholic powers in the LA area now than before. I'm in my early 30's and when I was in high school, Mater Dei, Amat, and Notre Dame were nationally known but schools like Serra and St. John Bosco weren't poppin' yet. Even Oaks Christian didn't take off until mid 2000's when Joe Montana's kids played for them. Back then Poly was King and much of the talent going to the new private programs would play for schools like Crenshaw & Dorsey (LA's Northwestern & Central, right down to the colors) and core suburb powers like Mayfair.

Do we need to start another thread discussing what areas of the country have good players, where everyone can weigh in, or is this topic on our coaches out selling UM?

What's "The Donk/Donk City"?

71-76 Chevy Impala or Caprice. Everything else is not a "donk". Only people from outside of south florida will call some other ride a donk. We are the originators. Everything else is fugazy!! **** an urban dictionay!!

I like your list bruh, the only thing I'd change is Ohio and Georgia's places. GA has made up a lot of ground in recent years (maybe all the national transplants that have moved to metro ATL). They've always had athletes but they're producing more big-time prospects than back when I was in high school. On the other hand, Rust Belt states like Ohio and Pennsylvania have seen their football reputations decline due in part to their shrinking populations, especially Penn(Western). Another state that produces ballers but goes unnoticed because it's small is South Kak. SC is always up there with the per capita leaders in CFB and the NFL, and a lot of their top kids are legit.

I feel you dog...and I know GA is making up ground, but Ohio is still producing, nationally, top 5-10 positional players across the board along the trenches, LB and DB spots. I can't lie, I don't follow GA football like I do Fla and CA. football, but I pay heavy attention to TX and OH football as well. Maybe I should start seeing what's up w/ GA football. I know they got some players, as well.

Same to you bruh, I know Ohio is still producing kids but they were on another level back in the day before folks started leaving for greener pastures. Which brings me back to my point about the population shift. OH and GA always have had ballers but the quantities they produced have reversed. It's not like people started moving from OH and it turned into North Dakota or GA was like Alaska and people started moving there and they turned into TX. Trust me Hometeam, I know OH still puts em out, Urb's gotta roster full of em and a lot of the ones he doesn't want turn out to be efficient ***-kickers(see Le'Veon Bell).

Dis man got it, right here. Howevah, I wouldn't put DC up there at all - even the metro DC area. Heck, I'd put the tidewater area above the DC area. I'm not real impressed with the DC area football schools.

I'd leave your top 5 as is and I'd include Georgia in there over NJ and DC.

No, my man, I totally agree w/ you, boss. That's why I have GA over over NJ and DC, but lately NJ have been catching fire with Dwayne Jarrett, AQM, Joe Flacco, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Juwan Johnson, and J Peppers off the top of my head; the DMV area has been trying to put some smoke out there, as well...so when I said DC I actually meant DMV. But yeah, I totally agree w/ you.

DMV has some talent I live here and it's still more a basketball area to me. Football is picking up though with schools like DeMatha, Good Counsel, Gonzaga, and those Catholic schools. Then you have public schools like Wise High School in PG County, Seneca Valley, FSU always grabs players from the DMV.

I'm from south Florida and use to think like you, until I seen players from Cali play live. Completely changed my mind about Cali athletes. Cali has elite athletes.

I've had the privilege to see Florida boys play on the HS level and Cali boys....I'm completely enamoured at the talent pool the State of Florida has to offer, in particular So. Fla....but, Cali boys can play too. Everyone think L.A. is hollywood, but it's the gang bangin' capital of the world...so a lot of these parents put their kids in sports at a young age as an escape from their surroundings. I don't even want to go through the list of cats you will never hear of b/c they made a wrong decision that would be in the NFL right now. Florida and Cali mirror each other, imo. But I'm still taking Florida athletes in regards to football over Cali, but Cali is definitely 1B.

FYI - Miami was definitely at Viera high school yesterday checking out 4-star receiver Tre Nixon. Unfortunately, Tre appears to be very much focused on an offer from Alabama. Penn State has also made a hard push for Tre recently.

Bradenton/Sarasota area has IMG, Manatee HS, Braden River, Venice, and there are about 5 other HS around there that are known for producing DI talent every year. Some of those schools like SRQ Riverview and Bradenton Southeast have fallen off since IMG and Manatee have taken off

Got jack from Palmetto as well. Booker in Sarasota used to be a good one that's where Sam Shields came out of I believe

Correct you are about Booker and Sam Shields.

Thought so I played for Braden River 2005-2009 I remember seeing him play Venice in 2005

I played for SRQ Riverview 96 and 97. We were a powerhouse back then. Braden River had a great year this year and i was impressed with their QB. Kid can sling it. He is going to be someone who i predict goes to a mid major and then gets a shot later down the road in the league.

Bradenton manatee still good? They used to be a huge power in the 90s.

They were REALLY good a few years ago once Kinnan came back and started getting the players again. They absolutely destroyed First Coast in the state title game in either 2011 or 2012. That First Coast team had Northup (who was all over the field that game), Daniel McMillian (Gata LB), and the QB who slapped the girl in Tally. They might have went back to back. However since IMG opened up they've lots some kids that would've been contributors to their program. They've made the playoffs last couple of years under new coach John Booth, but not dominate like they were in 2009-2012.
