Coaches visiting today

Each coach tweeted a pic of themselves and their location this morning. Over half of our last staff didn't use Twitter. Already seeing a difference on Day 1

While I personally don't like twitter I think its good that our coaches use it as I know its the new big thing so the kids they will be going after, coaching, and interacting with will be into it.

They are demonstrating that they are in tact with the current phase of recruiting and willing to show that they are adaptable as I am sure they don't like tweeting but do it because the kids like it, other schools are doing it and not bringing their Temple my way or highway ego to the table.

Herman has a Twitter/social media quota for each of his staff members. VERY pleased to see Richt pushing his coaches to have an active presence on social media. It's a necessary evil in today's cutthroat recruiting environment.

Says Byrd was Richt's first visit after the dead period, mostly Byrd's coach sending shots at the old staff and saying that he is excited to have Richt at Miami. Byrd isn't taking any more visits.

Here is a quote from the article, apparently Richt told this to the coach, "He talked with us about their record, how many guys go to the league. And he's unlike previous guys that have coached there. The fact is a lot of people think they have the most talent in the Coastal."

another quote from the article,
"He talked to Tyler about the kind of guys he's going to build the program on, good people like Tyler, guys that want to do the right thing, guys that are authentic and intentional about doing it right," Kramer said. "Guys that aren't that way won't be there long, and he told Tyler how much he appreciated that he never wavered, hasn't talked to anybody else. He said how fired up they are to get him there and get him competing."

What's "The Donk/Donk City"?

Are you asking what a Donk is? I thought this was funny:

donk

Any POS late 80's or early 90's American heap (preferably an Impala) that has large enough wheels installed until it resembles (and rides and handles like) a Conestoga wagon. This is done so it sits up high enough so as to be at the same eye level as the Playas with real juice ridin in their Escalades. Adding in a bad candy paint job and Wal-Mart sub box completes the transformation.
With no money left over for necessary suspension and brake upgrades, the lifespan is limited to a few drug runs or the first Police chase, whichever occurs first.
That donk is fly and ridin high.

Urban Dictionary: donk

Great stuff.

Very happy to see a renewed energy in our recruiting. It's been so long since I've given a **** about recruiting.
While we were there...I noticed the attention had shifted from the five incoming guys Jack..Zach..Pat..Mike and Shaq and all focus was on the remainder of the class... They put one guy on them to get settled...everybody else was focused on recruiting.. I told Shaq the fanfare is over for you..the only thing you are gonna hear from the staff now is get your a$$ in the weight room

Glad that Richt is willing to sell his and Miami's record on NFLers. I know some of the previous coaches shyed away from that but it's our best recruiting pitch.

When it comes to talent I think Georgia and Louisiana are the only states that would compete with us. The cajuns from the boot ain't no joke. Don't let Standish Dobard fool yall. I think he's going to ball out this year just because of richt play calling alone. The boot has major talent all over.

Cali ?

Nope!

Check this Ohio is more comp then California... if I had to name top 5 states to compete with FL

Georgia
Louisiana
Texas
Ohio
Pennsylvania
-----------------------
Hon mention

D.C
California... (they more Hollywood then gridiron)

Very true comment about transitioning from recruit to player. There is no more having your *** kissed, it's time to go to work and earn your keep.

My frosh year in college, all the frosh were on one field. We lined up in stretch and the coach says "For the last 12 months you were a recruit, now you are a freshman and your *** is mine" We then ran until we puked
