I have been told by someone in the press box that the only UM coach in the coaches booth was Rumph along with a couple possible analysts. Both coordinators and the rest of the position coaches we’re on the sideline. Talked to several guys in the business and a few ex players, one coached here and they were shocked. Hard to believe, hope my guy was wrong!

Lashlee and Baker were both on the sidelines. Baker always has been here and Lashlee always was at SMU.

QB coach is typically on the field and Lashlee is also QB coach, IIRC

Sitting behind the team at the game it definitely looked like calls were coming in from the booth whenever King checked with the sidelines. Lashlee would turn to the backup qb (maybe Matocha?) who appeared to get the play through the headset and feed it into King.

It’s doesn’t make a lot of sense to me either. Analysts are ok but I would think it’s better to have more experienced coaches up there.

If Baker, the DC chooses to be n the field then maybe co-DC Banda should be the eyes in the sky? Or maybe that is why it’s Rumph.

OC or passing game coordinator would make sense as well to watch D alignments, shifts and coverages.
