Coaches Travels: Day 2

i can only assume Richt JR will be Visiting our 2017 QB N'Kosi Perry.

I highly doubt we're sending coaches out to visit 2017 kids in the 11th hour of 2016 recruiting with a brand new staff scrambling to make inroads before signing day.

Don't doubt it because they take every opportunity to visit with kids from other classes. Brown visited Vandarius Cowan and Charles Perry 2017 (I think that's his name) before or after visiting Richards 2016. Many of the kids will get multiple visits from our coaches, but the current class will get the most attention.

Are you guys too dense to see the difference between chatting up Cowan WHILE YOU'RE ALREADY IN PALM BEACH to work on Richards versus going all the way to Ocala just to talk to a 2017 QB? Is it really that tough for you guys to process that the priority RIGHT NOW is 2016 guys and that if a 2017 guy happens to be in the area we will also take a few minutes to say hi to them?

It would appear so......either that or you have a fan club

Maybe both and a miscommunication thrown in. I think Franchise is right in that the targets RIGHT NOW are 2016 kids which is the primary objective and the ancillary objective is to touch base with top 2017 targets, while we're nearby, in order to maximize the productivity of our efforts... And I'm pretty certain that Franchise has a fan club.

They are doing their jobs that they are being payed handsomely for. No results yet. Don't understand the early praise.

The results will come soon. These guys seem to have put a lot of time and effort into a plan to visit the top guys that we really need to be successful. We are definitely on our way back.Everyone should be excited,I know I am.

I will be excited when I see results and wins. My blind faith died with chocker, Blandy and goldilocks.

I get it. 15 years without a proven coach.
Well, fear not. We have one now.

I get not having blind faith anymore. But to not be excited is a completely different thing. If you aren't excited about this staff You're crazy or just extremely pessimistic. This is the most "proven" HC we have ever hired. He has been extremely successful and has brought in some really top notch coaches. Granted the talent on our team currently isn't where I'd like it to be, I think Richt will do a great job. I don't want to hold him to too high of expectations in year 1 (I'll save those for year 2 and 3), but I still believe he'll finish as good of better than Golden ever finished here--9 wins or more.
To not be excited or refusing to admit this staff is good/great is just stupid.

Blind faith? The f_ck is this? So y'all telling people to have no faith in a coach that has won 145 games in 15 seasons? Foh lol, Miami fans should be excited about having richt the al Golden days are long gone..

This. Not even talking about games but georgia roster was 51% 4/5 Star players. Miami 33%. Not even getting into the gems and what not, richt has proven record of getting more highly touted players so everyone should be excited recruiting. This is the best recruiter we've had since butch

He was also doing that with good schools all within pretty short distances. I'm looking forward to what he can do, once he gets established in Miami, and start keeping the kids home.

Yet we had 9 yesterday. 10 on staff. Think it is 8 assistants per day.

Where's Hartley? The one strength he brings to the table is recruiting. He wasn't a real coach at UGA last year. I hope he's not struggling to pass the test.

He was a real coach at Marshall. In fact, he was their recruiting coordinator.
I know that. Doesn't change what I said unless that test carries over from his Marshall days even though he wasn't a coach last year.

Unless it's different from 2012 when I worked in the football office at Tennessee tech you can only have 8 coaches out for visits

It's 8 assistants if the HC is out as well which they always are. So yes 9 coaches total.

He's also probably lining up all these coaching visits contacting the high school coaches and kids families as well if he's recruiting coordinator.

So Randy and Golden you had faith in but the guy with 150 wins has to show you something before you jump on board. Makes sense.

I doubt he's struggling at anything. I don't think we should read into anything. He's probably at the Hect getting the money wired into the right accounts.

Isn't there a rule where you can only have so many coaches on the road recruiting at one time?
I also vaguely remember reading somewhere that we may have been hit with something from NCAA
sanctions limiting our number further (but I could be wrong).

EDIT: Sorry, MJackson6 already addressed it.

****, why am I doing this....the entire thread is likely to trigger an NCAA investigation.

NCAA should adopt current SEC rules, regarding permissible bagmen:

1 per each of two 5 stars
1 per each of three 4 stars
1 per each of four 3 stars
