Coaches thoughts on miami from Athlon sports.

I meant to tie back to their PSU heritage (should have been more explicit?)...that they have brought with them throughout thier careers....the "JoePa" way....

learn inference....

they didn't play anywhere near close to Paterno's defense because i don't know if you heard but there's a difference between 3-4 and the 4-3

learn to talk with your mouth, not your ***.....

again..not a big thinker are you? its not your fault...its mom and dad...they cooked you askew..you were screwed from.birth...

ok...im not gonna ask anymore with you #girlpowertriplet types...because you have, to date, proven incapable of actually answering a question...just dancing in vague responses sprinkled with insults (that you started..but Im not gonna let go...little gurl)...others may take your click clack insults on here...it sets society back..ignorants like you run your mouth..and people either take it..or worse..some beleive it..you fuqd with wrong dude...i dont need to say it to you "us" boy (so desperate to belong are we?l...or even yell everyone how Im the most respected poster on the internet ever (still laughing at that one...that is some good stuff there)....i just show you with each post that I pick you apart...word by word by word...and you...go rhesus monkey in response...fun!

Golden, in whole copy, cut and pasted his college career as staff from JoePa. the way he organized, the themes of more read/react (are you now going to say PSU is known for aggression on bith sides of ball...dont answer...you are being talked to in one way convo)...

goodness...Golden even DRESSES like JoePa...talks like him, same mannerisms, runs his fingers over his head like JoePa..stands on tje sidelines like him...

he brought the "joepa" philosophy, granted with a touch of tweak and evolution here and there (did you know Golden privately considered pulling name strips off of unis? of course you did)...and it just doesnt translate to SoFla and Miami...in hind sight...Goldens tenure probably was a peek at what JoePas tenure WOULD HAVE been had he really come to Miami vs Erickson...but you knew that too...right...

as for Golden..it will.continue as his new boss is another JoePa dude..but you knew that too of course...

so..i dont know if you've heard..but the overarching concept is organizational design...culture..strategic goals...all that he brought (JoePa)...was not a good fit for who we..yes we...are in SoFla or the athletes that gravitate(d) here...

the 4-3 schemes that PSU ran under Goldens formative years were not much like what was being run and developed by Johnson and Bowden teams...that by the way..have essentially served as the basis lineage-wise of hoe the entire SEC defenses are run...it all traces back somehow..someway...to how a HC was formed...

now...here you are..reading this (hooked on phonics!) and I can sense your bp rising...face flush..oh no he didnt...ill get him...illl run him off..im smartet..i know more...hes a **** sock..hes a ****..hes limp..he dont knw *****..blah blah blah..

bang bang goes the cage...whoosh whoosh goes your poo..

now just bang thise cymbals for.me...bang bang bang!!!

i think you look awesome in the red fezz with gold tassles...

Golden got his defense from al groh. Al groh got it from bill parcells and belichick and saban. uses some principals of that defense as well.

All those guys are more aggressive with what they did/do than golden. Golden chose to run it it that way because thats how he did it at uva as their dc.

And you make a great point...he didnt run the more aggressive style he had been exposed to...just tweaks (now my thoughts) to his overarching world view of the "JoePa" way...

on board with what you are saying thematically (at least if i understand you correctly)...I think we are saying the same things ffom each side of the coin...

Ok, here's the thing about the front 4. If that coach thinks it's about the TALENT of the front four, they are in for a rude awakening when we play them. The TALENT was there last year. What wasn't there was a coaching staff that would turn them loose. Enter Coach Kool.....

Rinse and repeat comments from 2006, 2010, 2015.

Somehow it's always the coaches fault that players can't rush the passer or beat their man one-on-one.

The scheme sucked.

We all know what happened. Golden and D'Onofrio were attached to a defense that didn't play well in South Florida. No DT worth anything would want to be a space-eater. How can you tell how well a player can rush the QB, when his job is not to rush the QB?

The defense might give up some big plays this year, but they will also make a lot more than they have over the last five years. Kuligowski is going to wake up the DL recruiting when they see the style of defense they'll be playing.

Joe Paterno?s Penn State Defense | Smart Football

"Penn State will – and should – always be defined by its defense. Despite some glances in the direction of being “Spread HD,” the foundation of the program is its rugged yet simple defensive schemes. When that team, wearing those same, historic uniforms, led by that coach, shuts down a hapless opponent under a sea of blitzes and gang tackles, “Linebacker U” speaks to something primitive within each of us. When you think of Penn State, you think of linebackers with bloody knuckles and neck roll padding, and a camera close-up of the opposing coach and quarterback wearing that “I-just-got-screwed” face after being on the wrong end of a goal line stand"

"what makes the entire old-school-we-still-play-Cover-3 approach sound – is that wired into the old school structure is the latest technology in terms of technique, disguises, and blitz packages. And the fulcrum of Penn State’s defense is the zone blitz."

"The beautiful thing about the zone-blitz is it fits PSU’s personality completely: it is both aggressive and conservative all at once. Although it is a blitz designed to get to the quarterback, its number one tenet is not to give up the big play. This is achieved because the scheme is just as the name implies: while it’s a blitz of linebackers and defensive backs, there is a conservative (and generally three-deep) zone behind it. There are essentially two key differences between the zone blitz as practiced by Penn State and its normal base Cover 3: (1) rather than being three-deep and four-under, most zone blitzes are three-deep and three-under defenses and (2) there are five rushers instead of four, and the identities of who is rushing and who is dropping are interchangeable"

Night and Day clown, you don't know what you're talking about. Ever seen the Seahawks play?? Manny Diaz runs a defense closer to Paterno's than Golden ever did. JoePa was the first version of the attacking 4-3 defnese. I love how you say I insulted you first, did I damage you so bad that you run around failing to try and trash me after you name called me fist and then made you look like a moron old man? Stick to your meaningless 9-5 job where they can replace you at the snap of a finger.

Seems like that huge sample of 1 or 2 coaches sees what a lot of us see--a lot of talent that was undercoached and quit on Folden because they knew he was garbage and that they couldn't win with him and his minor league slug coaching staff.

When a coach is honest enough to make a statement like "there isn't a better looking team in the Coastal from a physical standpoint" he's telling dimwits in a less direct way that UM wasted a lot of talent under Folden. That underachieving is exactly why Folden is gone.

Poor effort, Picklesmooch.

When you're being instructed not to shoot gaps and "beat" your man one on one in a two-gap scheme like we ran, and you don't, then you're doing what your coach is telling you to do. Ask Luther Robinson what happened when he beat his man one on one and made a tackle in the backfield.

Right on schedule with the cymbals grinder monkey! You clanging is a touch off key though...

Are you honestly offering that the PSU defense has been KNOWN for this type of performance...

its one thing to say "what we are about" and actually do in real life...

where have we seen that before...if only I could put a finger in it..wait..wait..oh yeah..

it was Golden's tenure...what you posted (minus a scheme set up) is almost a cut and paste of what Golden and staff HAD BEEN SAYING in their media pieces too..

you still arent getting the point...its the culture of JoePa...granted..big thinking has been well established as not a skill set of yours...and you keep clinging to parsing whatever words or themes that "support" your position..with nothing in reality to show for it...

are you really saying PSU defenses struck.fear into the hearts of elite teams (especially down south) on a consistent basis?

please keep talking and embarrassing yourself...or do better google research..because you clearly cant connect contextual themes...

so...fling poo this time or more.cymbal.banging?

I think.maybe we should get a trainer to teach you the accordion...now wouldnt that be fun..we.could sell tickets!

Agreed. It also contradicts the one coach saying Miami's front 4 was bad. Miami didn't have a bad front 4, they had a bad scheme for the talent they had on the front. Of course the talent won't scare you when it's told to eat up space and simply take on blocks. It's not the talent, but the scheme that was the problem. Coaching, 100%.

We are going to look like a different team come September.

Zbrody Brony Prez...

stop. embarrassing. yourself.

Diaz defense is closer to Paternos? are you insane...well..yes..yes you are...

its hard to respond to that comment just like your living under an I95 overpass howling at the sky telling everyone the sky is pink...the sky is pink...

you are a loud mouthed..uninformed fan...you say things aggressively in the hopes no one calls you on it...

as for our jobs in life..my goodness..now Im really laughing "us" boy...

ya know..just let me catch you wearing those came pants at an airport so I can give you an atta boy! you've never been an "us"..but for those of us who.really are...we appreciate your support...we are the adults in the room..

Im so going to regret this...smh..

Princess does make a good point about other coachs' eval of Miami and how the talent was wasted...

the more that comes out, he was just out of his depth in running a program on the D1 P5 stage...

wasted seasons...but..new staff and new day are here...

Go Canes!

Valid points. An 8-9 win season should be expected this year.

Again Im going to regret this..smh..

do you think the previous staff delivered 8 win seasons...or the players delivered it despite what is coming out in greater detail about their [previous staff's] incompetence?

i maybe want to lean the players delivered the wins in almost a "Lord of the Flies" style fashion...

kill piggy..kill piggy...great line btw

He said the front 7 lacked talent. Looking good from a physical staindpoint is height, size and etc. He said it may "look" like they recruited well but they have a lot of developing to do.
