Gus Malzahn, Dabo Swinney more college football coaches describe worst losses of careers

David Cutcliffe, Duke: Miami 30, Duke 27, 2015 - "Miami, 2015. Our team did an incredible job of getting a win and then I've never experienced anything like that. Hopefully never will again. That's without a doubt, no hesitation. There's not a close second."

Mark Richt, Miami: Oklahoma 13, Florida State 2, 2001 - "The last game I coached at Florida State as the offensive coordinator playing in the national championship game against Oklahoma. We scored a whopping zero points. Our defense scored two. I didn't coach well. We didn't play well. It was a chance to be right there to win a third national championship for Coach Bowden. In the last game there it would have been a nice way to finish."

I remember nurturing the faint hope that if FSU won that game we'd get a split Natty. Never been so mad at FSU, that after fraudulently getting into the ship, they couldn't even manage to make the game competitive.

this punk is still crying over that game, when if the game was called correctly it doesnt even come down to a kick return. artie burns made a great interception that sealed the game duke gets a gift PI call, they get stuffed near the goal line clearly short of the first down marker and again they catch a break. fvck cutcliffe

What do you expect from the old fart? He needed to win that game for a lot of purposes but recruiting is the main one. Cvntclitte would sell his soul and left nut to beat us last year because he knew it was the last time he would ever do it

That old cvnt still crying makes me laugh. I hope we put a major assraping on that old fool when we play this year.

We created Duke & Unc football. Now we will destroy whatever they thought they had.

Thanks al golden and Dorito for making Duke football think they actually matter. Thanks for being nothing more than a pair of molested losers.

"What's more Duke than Duke losing and calling the NCAA about it to file a protest afterwards?" - Bomani Jones

What's hilarious is that even after ALL of this, it was ONE subjective call that Walton's knee was probably down. It was reviewed extensively and not overturned. They can go **** themselves, they didn't deserve to win ****.

That old windbag ****cliffe is a Manning ball washer, F*ck him!

That was easily one of the worst officiated games in recent history, that game wouldn't have even been close if it wasn't for the refs.
23 penalties for 194yds vs 5 for 41yds... Smfh, he can go f**k himself.

Lol Cutcliffe. He knows he lost the game and it was gift wrapped to him.

The irony is that Duke might have won that game if their last "TD" had been spotted where it should have been. About a full yard short of the end zone.

I don't know if the Devils would have had enough time to get another play off. But if they had managed to get another play off and score a TD on that play, then there wouldn't be any time left for a miracle kickoff return by the Canes.

Golden was gone by the Duke game.

But my least favorite thing about the win was that it provided a victory for everybody else on Golden's staff.

And OU's QB was hurt during that game to boot. FSU wasn't even playing a team at full strength. 2000 OU was playing as well as the 2001 Hurricanes for the first 6 or 7 games of their season when Heupel was healthy. Then Heupel got hurt and they had to struggle to 3-0 and 10-3 wins for the of the year.
