Coaches poll

Its a good thing this poll doesn't carry weight anymore.

Not exactly true.

UM should be #3 . The fact that Clemson is ahead of UM makes absolutely no sense. UM and Clemson have played similar schedules with many of the same teams. Except UM beat a team that beat Clemson. It's not like Clemson has been blowing people out either. Yeah Clemson beat NC State, BUT UM beat FSU away and an 8-1 Toledo...most importantly UM is undefeated.

Normally we would want the teams we play to win. However, with all the anti-UM voting I'm rooting for everyone to have 2 losses. At this point I don't think a 1 loss UM makes it in the playoffs...even with winning the ACC. We need some upsets like FSU over Clemson, Auburn over
UGA, and Michigan over Wisconsin.

Who cares? It’s better this way. With Nd qb talking crap, experts picking Nd, this is shaping up the way we want.

Ohio State gets the absolute beatdown of a lifetime and they only drop to 11.

Its like i'm taking crazy pills.

Not like there’s a bunch of good teams out there, where would you put them, vtech only dropped 4 spots

Behind USC, UCF, Oklahoma State and Michigan State for starters.

USC just got beat up by ND, ok state just lost and gave up 62 as well, nobody really thinks if taint played ucf that ucf would win, and they actually Michigan State next week so we’ll see about that one. I’m just saying after the 9th spot it’s basically a crapshoot

It’s still all perception now. Miami will play ND and settle that, one way or the other, and I would hope play Clemson too, if things don’t get crazy, and then a playoff. Let the polls be a motivator. I’d rather they see things like this instead of the ***-kissing the SEC teams and Clemson are getting.

The winner of this week's game will be ranked 3rd....

2nd....if not first for UM. Body of work won't compare for the current top 2 teams. If we win by 2 or more touchdowns, we have a strong claim for 1st...outside of bias. ND would push 2nd for sure with a win.

List of Voters
The Amway Board of Coaches is made up of 65 head coaches at Bowl Subdivision schools. All are members of the American Football Coaches Association. The board for the 2017 season: Major Applewhite, Houston; David Bailiff, Rice; David Beaty, Kansas; Bret Bielema, Arkansas; Craig Bohl, Wyoming; John Bonamego, Central Michigan; Terry Bowden, Akron; Jeff Brohm, Purdue; Matt Campbell, Iowa State; Rod Carey, Northern Illinois; Mark Dantonio, Michigan State; Butch Davis, Florida International; Dave Doeren, North Carolina State; DJ Durkin, Maryland; Shawn Elliott, Georgia State; Larry Fedora, North Carolina; Luke Fickell, Cincinnati; Jimbo Fisher, Florida State; P.J. Fleck, Minnesota; James Franklin, Penn State; Willie Fritz, Tulane; Justin Fuente, Virginia Tech; Bryan Harsin, Boise State; Clay Helton, Southern California; Tom Herman, Texas; Doc Holliday, Marshall; Mark Hudspeth, Louisiana-Lafayette; Paul Johnson, Georgia Tech; Joey Jones, South Alabama; Mike Leach, Washington State; Lance Leipold, Buffalo; Tim Lester, Western Michigan; Seth Littrell, North Texas; Rocky Long, San Diego State; Mike MacIntyre, Colorado; Gus Malzahn, Auburn; Derek Mason, Vanderbilt; Urban Meyer, Ohio State; Jeff Monken, Army; Philip Montgomery, Tulsa; Scottie Montgomery, East Carolina; Jim Mora, UCLA; Dan Mullen, Mississippi State; Pat Narduzzi, Pittsburgh; Ken Niumatalolo, Navy; Barry Odom, Missouri; Gary Patterson, TCU; Mike Riley, Nebraska; Rich Rodriguez, Arizona; Nick Rolovich, Hawaii; Nick Saban, Alabama; Tony Sanchez, UNLV; Mike Sanford Jr., Western Kentucky; Scott Satterfield, Appalachian State; Bill Snyder, Kansas State; Frank Solich, Ohio; Rick Stockstill, Middle Tennessee; Mark Stoops, Kentucky; Tyson Summers, Georgia Southern; Dabo Swinney, Clemson; Matt Wells, Utah State; Mark Whipple, Massachusetts; Kyle Whittingham, Utah; Bobby Wilder, Old Dominion; Everett Withers, Texas State.

The problem is the number of MAC coaches on this list (BOLDED). For those of you who don't realize it, the MAC has no aspirations (say, unlike the AAC) of being a Power Conference. It is the place where coaches collect a pay check by allowing there teams to be BIG punching bags for the most part (Toledo is obviously branching out, but they are the outlier). Sure they win a game or two against Purdue or Indiana, but they know there bread is buttered by the BIG and that butter's value increases for them if the BIG is ranked higher.

It's an open secret up here of what their role is; students who go to BGSU to Kent State all wear OSUck gear and Central Michigan to Eastern Michigan wear Maize and Blue. The coaches know the score too and vote accordingly. If the MAC was correctly dropped to FCS (which the BIG would oppose), then we would see a difference.

USC is 8-2 and their only 2 losses were road games against a top 20 WSU and top 5 ND, UCF is undefeated obviously, OkState's two losses are to #7 and #9 in this poll.

Ohio State got their doors blown off against Oklahoma, needed a miracle to beat an overrated Penn State and lost by 31 to unraked Iowa.

Why do y'all do this ? We win out we're in, it's all in our hands.

If I am I reading the poll correctly, someone ranked GA 15th, us 18th, and did not even rank ND and TCU?

Technically, we need Clemson to win every game til the ACCCG. it sucks...but it's the only hedge we have left.
