Coaches been fired yet?

Termination Papers should have been signed etc. prior to game, and executed at midnight. There should be no defensive coaches employed right now. New staff should be signing contracts now.
not like Manny spent anytime preparing for the game, evident by the preparation displayed in the first half.

In this case, I believe that because no firings have been announced, none have been made. I honestly can’t think of a reason why they’d fire someone and keep it quiet. Especially someone like manny, who loves good PR.

why do u think they’d keep it hush hush?

I am not part of their SID so not sure. But just because I don’t know doesn’t mean there is not a reason. And the timing has nothing to do with PR. The PR happens when the announcement occurs. Insiders on here say changes will occur on defense. So all I can do is wait and assess once it happens (or doesn’t). I am not using my own ignorance as a basis to make any judgment on the situation.

You aren’t ignorant. You know how coaching changes work. We’ve seen plenty. Besides, why would a coach agree to keep his firing a secret? He needs other schools to know he’s available.

there may be firings over the coming days, there haven’t been any yet.

Here’s a reason why.... they don’t want to fire anyone until after T2 signs on Saturday... that could be a reason to not make waves. But even then, baker would still be employed righy now .

that’s not the case. These coaches consider it professional courtesy to not interview for jobs that aren’t open.
No. I’m not talking about a REAL interview. A lot of times, coaches and administrators have already made phone calls or have had “off the record” conversations to agents, the coaches themselves, or 3rd party entities, BEFORE a job OFFICIALLY comes open. Interviews happen, so it can look like everything was done above board and fairly. When in reality about 80-85% of the time, administrators and Head Coaches know exactly who they are hiring and for what positions, BEFORE they’ve actually fired the guy that’s currently working there. A lot of times, these interviews are just a formality. So they will “interview” folks, and these coaches will say **** like, “I’m not talking about no other job, except the one I have here.” or “I won’t comment on a job that isn’t open.”, but most of the time, the coaches already know where they’re going, and administrators know who they’re hiring. It is what it is, mane.

Ok. I’ll buy that.

But I don’t see why they wouid fire a coach and keep it secret, unless they were waiting for a 5* recruit to sign in 2 days. But even in that case they just wouldn’t fire him yet, no?

No one has been fired.
Miami has never fired a HC before his 4th year.

I just cant see mandy diaz bringing anyone bigger than him. Dude is a ***** and just doesn't have it in him. if he does fire baker or even rumph she'll bring in some chump that he feels he can be above.

Miami is just in a ****** situation right now with the admins not really caring and an athletic director that's easily top 5 worse in the ncaa.

Like the Texas situation. They fired Herman and hired Sarkasian on the same **** day. U know they had to be talking to each other while Sark was still employed. Coaching can sometimes be a dirty game, man. I’ve seen some really shady **** happen at the High School level (GA) as well.

Absolutely. I thought of this conversation when I saw the news yesterday. I was absolutely wrong!

Also, I do see why there was no news of the Herman situation until they had a replacement ready. They weren’t going to fire Herman if they didn’t have their 1st choice wrapped up. Which makes sense.

I think I was referring to a situation where a coach was fired, he knew he was fired, but it was kept secret. I believe this was the scenario in question. I can’t think of a reason why that would happen.

Which is a big big problem. If you deliberately target coaches that you feel won't pose a threat to your authority despite their coaching success and acumen, you will never succeed at this job. It reeks of insecurity. Real coaches see through the platitudes and can recognize a culture that lacks accountability. Ed Reed knows this! I know he sees it. He needs to speak up!

I said yesterday and I’ll say again Manny’s Rolodex is probably very small and he might be having trouble finding someone to come in without full control of the defense and being allowed to bring his people.
Also any coach worth a sHT also has to know he might be walking into a job that the HC may be getting canned in a year and is not willing to move his family for a year.

This coaching change might not be as easy as picking up a phone and talking to 4-5 guys that are willing to make the move...jmo
