They could hire him right now. We have one vacancy on staff that has been left not at all filled. Bring him in as the Specials Team Coach! ...and or as as a special consultant through the bowl game. In various industries with many major organizations, when a resignation is tendered by a major executive, the person is usually relieved of his duties immediately. Why? Because an outside specialist or an old retired executive comes in not just to run the operations and keep it flowing and productive, but to do a full hands-on pre-assessment of all the elements and tools of the organization and its operations.

This is done in order to give to the incoming executive a personal inside view of the elements (human resources) and system of the organization for the purpose of having head-ups on improvements that can be made not only immediately, but seamlessly and with the least amount of organizational resistance. Here in this UM case, Soldinger could serve for keen intel gathering not only on the players and incoming recruits, but on the coach-player dynamics that have cause players to be so soft.

24. I don't have a huge memory of what Butch did for this program, no emotional attachment towards those years Butch was here, yet I'm smart enough to realize he would absolutely kill it here again. It's that obvious.

I respectfully disagree.

I think that regardless of who the new coach is, there's a certain amount of rebuild required and implementing a new system and a new attitude.

Butch, Herman, Fuente, or whoever will need to make some major changes.
