Great segment with lots of info. Rumph talked very well, clearly an intelligent dude. Here's the executive summary of what Rumph said on the show:

-Lots of excitement around the program. Scrambling around the 2016 class was hard, but they felt they closed well.

-Richt is bringing that "SEC vibe" into recruiting, whole staff is working very hard and grinding, a lot of positive energy around the staff.

-Butch Davis hazed their freshmen to jump off the high dive in 1998 lol, says it's the last time he's ever going to jump off the high dives.

-Every move is discussed amongst staff, very thought out, everything is a strategy, called Richt a "genius". Every little thing is thought out. Richt thinks of everything including small things like having the best athletes working out in the gym when recruits tour the campus.

-Adrian Colbert and Corn Elder, MJ, Henley, Mayes, Redwine, Malek Young, J. Johnson, T. Murphy is the CB squad. Number one thing we're working on is how to tackle in an attacking 4-3 formation. "We're competing a lot between us. Very high level of competition during practice."

-The theme of Paradise Camp was competition. Need to learn how to compete again. Once we get the kids competing amongst themselves again, there'll be progress on Saturdays.

-Amazing atmosphere at Paradise, was great to work with his brothers Antrel Rolle and Buchanon. Every kid was comfortable, they concentrated on 1v1 drills.

-It's been a "dream come true" to come from HC to CB coach. Praised Coach Diaz and Coach Kool as teaching him so much and making him comfortable as a college coach. Praised Coach Banda and Baez as "recruiting Beasts" that "go all day long" in recruitment.

-"Of course" the defense is going to be more aggressive. Focusing on proper tackling, want the kids to be instinctive when attacking. This "defense fits Miami perfectly"

-Coaches counting the day, really anxious to start practice. Kids are super excited for Fall Camp. A great feeling in the program overall, lots of positive energy.

-The one thing he really wants to do on Game day? "I'm coming out of the smoke with the kids" no matter what. Says he's missed that feeling.

-Had this swag ****iness when discussing how the canes are going to kick the *** of the gators and "that team up north we won't name"

Hopefully he can silence the doubters by putting out a good cb unit as well as landing a few of the AH kids

Rumph is a coach with experience amd credibility at the position... Banda is just a recruiter thats all he can do.

Good stuff. Coordinated DB staffs like this poised to bring in one of the better perceived DB classes in Miami history. Like that the first year coach gave Banda and Baez props for showing him the ropes. Love they focusing on tackling because many college teams not good at it. Good to hear they believe they have good players at DB. Guys competing again in combination with attacking scheme and real coaching will pay dividends on Saturdays. Can't wait till season starts and especially can't wait till 2019 to beat the gates AGAIN.

Up voted the Rumph comment. We'll see on Banda. So far I'm a huge fan. Carter stepping up this year is his litmus test. He performs and Banda is a coach also. He knows the system so I won't be surprised if Carter shows up in a big way. We've seen flashes. Coach Kool is gonna help Carter also by putting opposing offenses in predictable downs and distance.

Go Canes!

Maybe the light goes on for Carter this year but so far I'm not impressed. He's a liability in coverage and hasn't been a consistent tackler. I hope he shows out this year and can be the thumper we need at the safety spot. The secondary needs a guy that makes receivers afraid of going over the middle.

Be so glad when I stop hearing "that SEC" this and that. Be glad when it's known as "The Miami Way" again.

You can't hit guys going over the middle anymore. They'll call targeting unless you clearly arm tackle him or cut his legs out. No hesitation for WR's to go over the middle anymore. IMO you load up on speed guys who are capable of coverage and tackling.

How the **** you know that's all Banda can do? Can tell you've never coached a lick in your life......there's ALOT more to coaching than having played the position.
