Coach Richt was 5-10 against the Gators

It's fine to think Richt will do well at Miami and know that he did horribly against Florida.

I don't understand why people can't say "yes, he was awful against Florida (that's just a fact), but I still think he'll succeed at Miami."

This is actually good news.
Coach is then 140-41 against all the other teams he's played.
He only plays Florida once in the foreseeable future...next time will be with a bunch of South Florida boys.

I want to believe in CMR, but I feel like everyone is falling into the same trap we fell into Golden by drinking the kool aid and not looking into the stats. I mean Golden was 27–34 at Temple before he was hired and nobody questioned the hire except Jason Whitlock (who everyone chastised at the time), yet he was 100% right.

To me it's just a statistic people overlook, Richts record against UF. In a lot ways we can argue FSU is better positioned than UF the next few years. If Richt went 5-10 against UF, how can we expect him to even have better odds against FSU?

Stats can be interpreted in many ways. Saban is like 8-8 in major bowls, but he's won several titles. His record against gates isn't impressive either. Can't argue Richt's record against gates, but we have all the reasons to be enthusiastic despite his record against gates.

I think it was Benjamin Disraeli who said "there are three types of lies. Lies, **** lies and statistics."

Go Canes!

We beat Oklahoma when Jimmy was here. Its when we broke his leg in Norman. I believe it was Jerome Brown who did it.

Looks like we're going to have a new member of the "BAND" soon...

That list had UGA, LSU, FSU, and VT. That hasn't been terrible company outside of a few years[/QUOTE]

Good point!

Is there one guy who keeps making new accounts to say dumb ****, or are there really this many of them?

Florida has had Georgia's number.
I really don't see much more into it than that.

If he was 10-5 against UF he would still be coaching at Georgia so what really is the point of this thread?

I'm pretty sure Saban beat Penn State, Michigan and Ohio State his last year at Michigan State. Shocker, Michigan State even beat the 10th ranked Florida Gators in the 2000 Citrus Bowl 5 Days after Saban left for LSU.

He beat Penn State and Michigan but was still 2-3 against them, meaning he was 1-3 before his final year...OSU was 6-6, he also beat Notre Dame that year who was 5-7...But don't mention him getting beat 52-28 by a Purdue team that finished 7-5.

You make great points and we can sit here and argue plus counter argue even the most successful coaches losses on very small bodies of work. However Coach Richt has a very large body of work against UF, 15 years and in that span his winning percentage was .333. Crazy to think that a coach whose winning percentage was .333 for 15 years against one of our most bitter rivals is now our HC and loved by 99% of the board.

Out most bitter rivals???? Lol..man they dont even want to play us..that aint no rivalry....he will do better against FSU plus the talent in Florida is better than Georgia..everyone knws that.....he will do fine here....

LOL - all you young guys. Let me tell you something us older Canes fans learned LONG ago. The Noles may suck, but the Gators swallow.

True.
But there isn't anything "bitter" about the series vs the mouth-breathing facquits from north Florida as we normally beat thei
****s when we play them.

I'm just stating facts. I remember the Miami vs Maryland game in 2011 and some poster got called a "****ing troll" by half Cane nation after he highly criticized Golden's game day coaching performance after that loss and questioned the programs direction.

Would you offer the same lackadaisical excuse as to why Golden was 0-5 against FSU??? C'mon don't be that naive. The reason Golden lost to FSU so many times, especially in the last few years of his tenure, was due to a myriad of on the field issues that were self-inflicted. The same could be said for UGA, it's not like UGA had massive NCAA cloud over it's head or was being heavily out-recruited by UF. UGA and UF were pretty equal teams.

The only time Richt ever really beat UF pre-Muschamp he had to send his entire team on the field (google 2007 UGA celebration) I mean that's how desperate it got up in Athens to beat UF. You could honestly argue that the only coach that Urban Meyer a** raped more than Randy Shannon while he was at UF was Mark Richt. LOL - and now Richt is our coach. Funny how things work out.
