Coach Richt & more... Post Game Presser 10/28/17

Coach at it again..."it's about execution"...that includes execution as a play caller as well! smdh...

Fake coaches at it again... Obviously execution was the biggest issue today. You want Coach Richt to execute the plays too?? Lol hilarious

Hey wordsmith, I said it "includes execution as a play caller as well" hence, implying that it isn't "only" the play calling. O line & Rosier was trash as well.

But if your QB and OL is trash how can you call a good game?

This is a simple concept that is escaping you.

One comes before the other.

I 'm done with this debate, I'm having too much fun in Gaytor Tears relishing the demise of those cucks

You're done because you're clueless and can't stand to support what you say.

Using "cucks" is another sign.

i just supported everything that I wrote down, idiot...if you are too dense for simple reading comprehension, that is your problem. Should have been an Alum, they fix that problem at UM...or at Duke for that matter since I attended both for degrees.

You keep screaming execution....well as head coach, OC and QB developer, that falls squarely on his shoulders. Period.

Then discuss that.

Stop with this tired, cliche "play-calling" garbage.

No coach in America can make a mediocre O-line group, great.

Nor can play-calling mask the inability to block anybody for long stretches.

Nor can it cover for a quarterback who can't make a simple throw on a screen.

McDermott. 5*
Darling. 4*
Gauthier. 3*
Donaldson. 5*
St. Louis. 4*

So? They best o-line we’ve faced all year had a bunch of nobodies on it

You're proving my point. They're well coached, ours are not.

More proof is they were against our talented and well coached DL. Our OL hasn't played against any DL close to ours, even though they practice against them and constantly **** the bed.

Rick ain’t hiring an OC.

He’s already got one.

Rick wants that primary involvement in play calling and in the offensive game plan. He’s not giving any of that up.

So you can debate from now until New Year’s - nothing’s changing. You better ride or die as Rick ain’t hiring nobody. I don’t even know why people argue about it, his involvement and much of the rationale for him coming back to coaching was for him to do exactly this.

Everybody either get used to it, or fly the planes. Those are your only two choices - he’s not hiring an OC. End of story.

WHat plays would have worked today? Running game couldn’t do anything and Malik was missing bubble screens

I dont know, but I know that 4 verts on 2nd & 8 and draw plays on 3rd and 15 are **** playcalls, and almost anything else would work better in those situations. There is absolutely no way to defend Richts playcalling at this point. If he doesnt hire a dedicated OC, we will never take the next step.

a draw on 3rd + 15 is probably the most called play on a 3rd + 15.

Our QB was BAD today. We had guys running free and open. We couldn't hit them. He had about 5 good throws today and they were the 4 long gains and the TD to berrios. Other than that we had guys free and he was throwing it in the dirt, overthrowing it, and making it hard for our WRs to catch the ball.

Also doesn't help in the redzone when your stud drops a first down pass with separation and room to run, but again it wasn't a great thrown ball.

Can't call plays when you can't make the right reads. Malik has played as bad as he has played all year the last two games. Now he is dinged up and hurt. Not good, but what do you call when your guy can't make it happen and Oline can't blow people off the ball?

Seriously. I saw many a play get busted up and whether or not a different play were dialed up is irrelevant, because a swing pass sailing over the receivers head is not on the OC. Rosier continues to stare down his primary. Throws into double coverage without checking down.

Well, Richt can gain genius status if he puts together a winning play calling effort next Saturday. Rosier does need to perform at a much higher level, last game was bad!

How about a run/pass game coordinator?!? Put dude in the booth overhead and be able to give quality in game feedback to Richt on the field in order to facilitate Richt in his play calling. He obviously has someone in the booth on the other end of the headset and that person isn't cutting the mustard

You mean Thomas Brown, I assume.

During games...I've seen Thomas on field level during games. Think Jon Richt is in the booth...not sure who else is. Jon may be a good up and coming QB coach, but we need a seasoned person in the booth calling out gaps to Richt on the field so Richt can call solid plays.

Yep.

It's puzzling that we didn't bring in a JUCO TE and an FB in last year's recruiting class. I don't think we brought in the maximum amount last year and we're well short of 85 scholarship players.

And the run blocking clearly needs to improve. But Searels is solid at recruiting and seems to be decent at player development, too, so hopefully we'll see a lot of improvement over the next couple seasons.

Our OL creates zero holes for the running game. They pass block well but suck balls at creating holes. We need to be able run to do what Richt wants to do.

He needs a legit passing game coordinator. He can remain OC (which I'm ok with). But someone has got to help the man design plays for our passing game.

Absolutely agree with you here, hopefully the tenth coach will be a veteran offensive game planner who we can stick up in the booth. I think that's more important than a stud recruiter right now.
