I think people forget that it’s easy to pick badly amongst highly rated kids also. The odds may be better but there are still plenty of bad fits. They clearly know what they want and need and how to assess. I obviously appreciate that you have to adjust the results for the talent inputs, but UM’s record with highly rated recruits the past 15 years has been pretty dismal. Alabama has more choices but they still need to choose well.

Yea the issue is...if they dont choose well...they just have a 5 star that is replacing him and they get washed out. Most schools cant stack 5 stars to that level or have them bust to that level.

Ive stated before i would work in UM's recruiting department for peanuts. I think them and UGA are paying the recruiting department types above 40k a year. Im not speaking on analyst.

The advantage we might have is we have the talent pook of high school coaches or former alumni in the area that might jump at the offer to get a start in the recruiting department.

U’re better than this, dog. We’re all entitled to our feelings, but let’s be real...Bama’s evals are not Coker’s. Once upon a time we just welcomed any 5/4 star player w/o evaluating chit. The results? We got chit. And never will I knock a program that can recruit nationally & get any top ranked player to come. That used to be us; we locked down home then cherry picked. I dont have hatred for them. One of my familys close friends are one of their big boosters/alumni. I got to see first hand their game day atmosphere..(i went to Tuas first game) and i can see how kids would commit there. I was treated like a **** recruit lol

1.) I kinda said in the last 3 years. So speaking on This year is moot. I went back 3 cycles

2.)Dean was a 4 star because he had a supposed BAMA offer. **** i think he was a commit to them at 1 point trying to remember.

3.) We dont recruit Juco's tough. Our academic requirements are tough for them to get in. But your reasoning is kind of stupid either way. Because i could just post sh*t like how did we get Jeremy Shockey and they got Brad Smelley. How did we get Bryant Mckinnie and they got whomever. Cody would be Michael Wyche in the system he played in. Cody was perfect for the 3-4 they ran...and i think Um offered him to. I dont even know who tf Dequan Menzie is . Alot of more rambling..Jovani Haskins?. I mean we produce TE's better than they do either way but carry on.


I'd let @TheSwagger1 speak on Mcelroy and the records he was setting in TX. I think he had to sit behind Chase Daniel in high school. He wasnt some lowly recruit. Alot of the stuff your skewing on n on about is DEVELOPMENT..not totally bad evals and recruiting. Its quite obvious we havent had that we have had sh*tty coaches for some time.


You cant be a true UM fan and say we locked down home then cherry picked....Because that doesnt happen in South Florida. Just like there are know dope boys that RUN south florida or cities or no gangs that run the area...UM never locked down south florida consistently. Guys always left.

We, here, saw 4 star #2 CB & ran w/ a storyline that we “beat Bama” for a CB. L-o-L. Furthermore, as my guy @Ethenic Sands pointed out, 4 star ratings BEEN given out Blue Chip rankings to JUCO players, since like 2002 which debunks the notion u tried to use to diminish Bama’s evals on Cody. 5. U’re still trying to tap dance around the fact that Greg McElroy was a 3 star QB. Yes, he was the 5A section player of the year, but Matt Stafford was the #1 QB & the All American, not McElroy. Regardless, McElroy wasn’t even a Saban recruit, he just had his success under Saban. But u know who was a Saban recruit? Some guy named Mac Jones from Jacksonville....3 star.

6. The fact u said we didn’t lock down So Fla & cherry pick let’s me know we can’t have a serious convo. U’re pushing a narrative that’s disingenuous to make a point. Of course we didn’t get every player in South Fla! TF?! That’s like saying SC gets every player from So Cal or TX gets every player from Austin & the surrounding areas. That’s just unrealistic. The whole point of “The State of Miami” was build the team w/ OUR targets, which we got more often than not, then & only then reach into CA, TX, PA, NY, IL, THE JUCO & poach the best guys from those areas. That was the blue print, and ANY long time Miami fan knows that. ****, the coaches told us that. Lol.

Anyways bro, I know U’re well connected on the HS scene. I respect ur opinion on 9/10 matters on this board....ur take on Bama is a little off-kilter, imo. I can tell u of a recent 5 star recruit & star who attended Bama & I can unequivocally tell u it was made clear that being a 5 star was one thing, but they would continue to evaluate to make sure he was Bama material, stars be damned.

Your 5 star recruit you know can say that....because they are evaluating other 5 star recruits. Ive said that many a time already. Literally described it with the Jordan Battle decision. They beat out a team that he begged for a commitable offer for who produces just as much nfl dbs as they do in Ohio State.

My opinion is just that it isnt hard to evaluate when your evaluating 5 star recruits ready to jump in the boat..or pick off other guys evals and commits any time you want. We didnt do that on our run...and thats our fault. I admitted to that.

But they have created a culture from winning and buying or whatever where there is some development and there hoarding of 5 star recruits..where there is iron sharpening iron. The issue i have is the d*ckpulling by ppl, espn, coaches, posters ON THIS BOARD that creates some mystified fairy dust that they have in Tuscaloosa which creates some mystical football program which in turn leads to more 5 star recruits signing up to go there.

I THINK tHEY ARE ABLE TO DO THAT WITH THE CACHE THAT SABAN HAS AND HAS BUILT UP. I LAUD FOR THAT. They wont be slowing down until he retires, and even then they likely have Dabo coming in after or someone similar.
I mean sh*T we had Thad Franklin literally complaining about the possibility of another back in his class, at Bama they bring in 5 star backs in the same class...backing up 5 star backs from the class prior.

FOR EXAMPLE THERE ISNT ONE SOUTH FLORIDA RECRUIT THAT WENT UP THERE THAT MOST PLUGGED IN POSTERS DOWN HERE DIDNT KNOW WHAT THEY WOULD DO AT BAMA. You think they evaluated better on Pat Surtain?...Jerry Jeudy?. Ridley?. We knew what these guys would be...and they would be the same at FAU.

Winning does that. ****, we had that same mythical aura too, bruh. We were the guys that dawned the mantra NFLU. The sports world began & stopped w/ us. That’s what happens, man. It’s not us, so it’s annoying, but at the end of the day, I respect a program that invested in itself. I blame us for tricking off what we built. We changed the game, which is why Nick picked Butch’s brains.

Right now, Clemson, OSU, & Bama are machines on auto pilot that all the top kids want to go to. They can take their time, evaluate, prepare for possible attrition due to log jams, etc. Its a program.

And for the record, I did compare classes sans McCloud & Hightower. That was an example of two “fringe” 4 star players, but everyone else was based upon their respective classes.

Agreed.

We were that guy but literally offered and signed bums in the time period. Im not talking about 5 star bust im talking bout down right guys that shouldnt have had offers. Sh*t still infuriates me. We at a time didnt have enough wrs for spring practice...In south florida. We followed that up with this era and not having a legitimate cb room ...in south florida. Sh*t is infuriating.

I love this last class and liked the class before alot to. Hopefully we can somewhat get back to it..with pulling some 9-10 win seasons with Manny.

For example Eddie Jackson. He wasnt a Saban find..my man had sh*tty grades and only played his sr year. They win because they get the best of the best...and have the depth to have 4 and 5 star kids shirt or be back ups.

They **** sure aint getting much 3 star skill position guys. Again 4 star kids arent SLEEPERS or evals.

Only reason the lesser guys get drafted is cause the top end talent makes everyone else look good.

Facts, my g. Bro, I think I’ve posted several times on here how in the off season, I rewatch games. Blood, on soul, I don’t know how we tricked off everything. Then, to ur point, literally the best recruiting area FA SHO for WR & CB....like u can spit in any direction & hit either a gem or hidden gem in the CB dept & our room was severely f’d up! Like how?? I try to wrap my head around it, and I gets nothing but frustration.

This class, I love. It was a pleasant surprise, and we need to build on that. We can’t get a nice class here & there, we HAVE to continue to evaluate, properly communicate, and stay on our targets. I thought the class of ‘16 was going to be a Bldg block for us....smh.

Man, we just gotta stay diligent. Keep posting guys on here, bruh. U, & @Liberty City El give along w/ @Coach Macho have been great asset to the board putting out targets. What ****es me off the most, if imma be honest, it’s not the blue chips that get away to the new power schools...I can justify that; it’s when we bump threads & see the UTR guys u mention go to UL, Pitt, UNC, etc & come back to kick our ***! Lol.

Agreed. It’s their ignorant arrogance that is the prime example of why most of our fans would be terrible bagmen.... eventually their egos would get the best of them and they would want credit or to showboat...

Most Miami fans or boosters are more like Nevin Shapiro than the preacher in Macon, Atlanta businessman, car dealership in Mobile, we’ve never heard of....

Despite him being a **** bag, I'm fan of Propst's scorched-earth approach. He might be going down but he's going to try and take the SEC down with him. Also, it's a good strategy to get all this stuff out in the open before some goon working for one of the big SEC schools cuts his brakelines to keep him from airing the dirty laundry. At least now they'll only try to discredit him instead of disappearing him.
