Coach Kul on WQAM

Good on Richt letting a position coach do so much media stuff. You never see that at other programs. I don't think Nickpoleon even lets coordinators do media. This might be Richt's way of prepping Kool to move up the coaching ladder.

i'm not sure if kool wants to move up. he coached d-line at mizzou for 15 years and ucla for 5. he seems pretty comfortable sticking to position coaching, and it would be awesome if he decides to make this another lengthy tenure.

He never coached at UCLA.....only Toledo and Missouri.
As far as him not being here for long time, that is part of the business.
The bigger picture is that program paid what it took to land an elite DLine coach.
As long as the school is committed to paying top dollar, we will be fine.
In the meantime, enjoy him while we have him.

i have no idea where i had ucla from, but yes 5 years at toledo as dl coach.

Summary please?

Thanks in advance

Coach Kool said he wants a 10 player Dline rotation, wants 3 sacks and 9 tackles for loss per game at Minimum just from the Cline alone. Coach Kool said he had a meeting with the UM President today, he tried to down play it as a normal thing but I am sure Shalala didn't take a meeting with Jethro Franklin or Rick Petri.

He talked about why he chose Miami and how his phone rang off the hook at Mizzou with job offers.

Go Canes

Not just him alone all of um coaches met with the president

Hopefully they just lets kid play ball Miami style. Shalala was notorious for telling coaches pre season how she wanted kids muzzled on the field.

edit: corrected 5 years as dl coach at toledo.

I'm 100% sure Kool wants to move up.

Coach Kool is the best hire we have made in, what, 10 years? This type of coach is what it takes to get teams over the top. I'm so pumped to see his impact on the team.

A difference maker...Our DL is going to terrorize every team this year....

Glad to hear that his family loves Miami....

Talked about rotating 8-10 guys up front and game goal is 3 sacks and 9 tackles for loss along with 3 turnovers for the defense.

I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think we'll have Kul for more than a couple seasons. Unless Manny is no longer DC and Kul gets that job.

If Manny is still here in 3 years, we've failed.

Good concept but not completely...How long was Kirby Smart sucking Saban's nut sack? Not to mention Manny is from Miami so he could still be a phenomenal DC and just elect to stay under a great coach in Richt.
