Coach Diaz Following Jamel Cook

Mizzou got beckner and green-beckham both 5 stars i believe. Miss st, vandy, and ketucky havent been able to do that.

I would say Kentucky and Missouri(maybe) are worse

naw....miss state \has to be worse...

UK has a draw..(bball) and their located near enough to ohio to be a factor there if need be...

seems like lately missouri has produced some good hs pl;ayers as well...

Missouri always had players... Kansas city, Cape Giradeau/sikeston, Joplin/springfield/Branson área then of course St louis/ e st louis. If KC/STL inner city youth had proper guidance and introduced more to athletics then gangs (bloods/crips/stones/gd's/vicelords) then you'd here more about athletes from the area like Jeremy maclin/Brad Beal.

They're there just like in Detroit/flint baltimore/dc philly/jersey akron/Cleveland plenty of talent in dilapitated areas. If you can find a recruiter to actually go in some of these places you'd find some gems like you'd find all over the florida of course you have to have the right people looking

Cook and Ahmonn Richards are the two biggest fish, IMO. Superstar talents at positions of need.

Yup these are the kids that would leave for bamaand fsu, this will tellu if things changed. Because even if ag were coach AR was the type who wouldflip last minute.

kid is the big grab in the class....you dont let 6'2-6'3 195 dbs just walk out the door....

\he's the type of kid u build upon....he comes in instantly creates comp at both spots if you want...the one thing i use to like about our old defenses is that we tried ALL dbs out at cb early in camp...then moved them appropriately.....he's a kid that might actually be a big corner..but he imo can fill nicely on the back end....he stepped up his physicality this year....i definately dont need him at fsu.

I havent seen Cook and have heard really good and some ok stuff about him from people who have, but Saban himself said this kid was his top DB prospect. Saban made this kid a priority. That is all you need to know.

Yup
Saban wants Ar and cook badly thats all u need to know. Its about potential not what they do in HS

How would you know that if coaches can't talk about recruits by name? Just curious.

This kid is not a must get, ive seen mostly all his games live decent player but extremely stiff and got beat alottt this year

What are your thoughts on Diaz?

Don't want to speak for him, but I remember DMoney posting this in a thread when Dan Mullen was being discussed as a head-coaching possibility for Miami a month ago:

1) Can he fix the defense?

Mullen's defenses at Mississippi State have been pretty crappy. Aside from a very good season in 2011 with Fletcher Cox and two NFL corners, here are MSU's ranks in defensive yards-per-play under Mullen:

2015- 54th
2014- 72nd
2013- 70th
2012- 58th
2010- 40th
2009- 82nd

It's not impossible to build a strong defense in Starksville. Jackie Sherrill had some killer units in the late '90s. But Mullen hasn't done it.

Also, many posters have justifiably criticized Charlie Strong for his defensive failures at Texas. Are the same people ready to hitch their wagon to Manny Diaz?

im gonna say it one more time. yds mean nothing. his d was great in redzone td pct, it was great at tfl's, turnover and pts allowed also. his yds weren't great always but his pts , tfl's turnovers are usually top 25.

I say MsU is better because MS has a LOT of solid in state talent. At one time the state produced the highest number of pros per capita.

They do have another team to compete with for recruits though, and we all know how Ole Miss plays in the recruiting game...

msu is the step child in the state though....i know that state has low key talent...msu is usually second fiddle there though

I say the same thing although I'll be honest it was just one game. Yet that one game told me everything I needed to know. Yes he's tall, s&c he'll look good. How are you going to teach fluid hips though... thats something rashard Robinson had, that's what Becker has... i dont see it with cook... i see a guy getting burnt because he doesn't have fluid hips... if he does sign here I hope I'm wrong and everybody can serve me some crow.
