CO OC/WR Coach

Let's be realistic, Mark Richt is going to likely hire some unproven, young no-name as his WR coach given his recent hires of Ephraim Banda, Mike Rumph and his son, Jon Richt. Of all the coaches he's hired, Kuligowski and Brown are quite possibly the only desirable coaches on his staff. Those two will be highly sought after Year 1 or 2 at Miami. I can't say that'll be the case for any of the other coaches.

For all the talk from Mark Richt of getting messages from a litany of coaches wanting to coach at Miami, I think we somewhat fooled ourselves into thinking he was referring to highly sought after coaches, other than Dave Aranda.

This can work out 1 of 3 ways. Either the young coaches tear it up on the recruiting trail and Mark Richt's Youth Movement re-establishes Miami as a perennial Top 15 team; Miami's Youth Movement can bite them on the field due to inexperience at the skill positions (particularly Wide Receiver, Cornerback and Safety); or we can have a mixed bag with where one skill position group looks pretty darn good and another downright putrid.

I think we all thought he'd hire most of his coaches of Kuligowski's experience and accomplishment, yet that has turned out not to be the case.

The first test is going to come in recruiting, at least a sampling of it in 2016 with 2017 being the biggest indicator of what these guys can accomplish. The second test, coaching, will follow the same rubric. Don't expect much from them next season. I think 2017, from a coaching standpoint, will be a better judge of whats to come as that will be Year 2 of Mark Richt & Manny Diaz's system.

Guys let me know what you all think. Are you all as optimistic as when he was hired, more so or less so, now that he's put together the bulk of his staff?

sensible post. I agree w/ most of it but disagree on certain parts.

According to reports Diaz was a DC was offered/in talks to become Auburn's new DC and Searles was on his way to Georgia Tech. A furthermore, we were in the running for aranda & Raymond. Lost out so it doesn't matter though.

Due to his history I could see Kool staying for a long time. Not sure on brown.
