Here's a recap of the staff going into the 2016 season as of now...

HC/QB – Mark Richt
Co-OC/RB – Thomas Brown 1
OLine – Stacy Searels 2
Co-OC/WR – Vacant 3
TE – Vacant 4

DC/LB – Manny Diaz 5
DLine – Craig Kuligowski 6
CB – Mike Rumph 7
Safety – Ephraim Banda 8

ST – Todd Hartley 9

GA (2) - Vacant
----------------------
S&C - Vacant

With the coaching staff being finalized with a few positions remaining, what can we expect from these guys as recruiters? Those who have a clue about any of these coaches, feel free to express what we can expect.

For example, I don't know diddly squat about Ephraim Banda and think he's the biggest unknown among the bunch.

(The numbers next to the names are a reminder of how many coaches a HC is allowed to have that can recruit.)

Can someone tell me where it's been reported that Richt or his son will coach QB and Diaz will coach LB?

I see this all over yet there's been nothing reported. If Diaz was going to coach LB too why not announce it when he was announced as DC?

we can definitely recruit on offense with just those three and Hartley but outside of coach kool it's a little cloudy on defense...we'll be able to tell when the 2016 class finishes btw you forgot Jon richt.

I guess that's been the overriding assumption being that he's coached LB's at the majority of his stops in his career while also being the DC.

It not announced but it's safe to say qb is Jon richt's "job" even though his dad is going to coach it and jon's title is offensive assistant

Yeah im kinda worried about the defensive recruiting. Being new coaches ( Rumph, Banda) other recruiters will use this as an advantage saying they are not proven coaches. I mean to me the idea of it being split one coach for corners and one for safeties seems appealing, kinda like being in a smaller class size. Which could equal more practice reps and more one on one coaching from your position coach. interested to see what you all think and to see how these 2 newer coaches hit the recruiting trail.

Two time state champ coach. No idea what he is doing right?

I didnt say that.. Im an causiously optimistic about the hire. He has done nothing but succeed no matter where he has gone. I think we could get very lucky and be pleasantly surprised with Rumph. Im talking purely recruiting, and predictions for that case. Just an opinion.

- Mark Richt is one of the elite head coaches in terms of recruiting, he can recruit at an elite level...
-Hartley was known as a really good recruiter at Uga being the Uga recruiting coordinator
-Thomas brown is known as a good recruiter and has a lot of connections in ga.

- Stacy searles is a great coach and ok recruiter

- Mike rumph I assume will be a good recruiter. He has that type of personality to relate to recruits and he is well known in his specific area. On top of that he is a great coach and technician.

- Manny Diaz is known as a really good recruiter, south Florida kids would be lining up to play in his system when they see how agressive it is. Really fits the athletes down in south Florida.

- coach kuligowski is arguably the best dline coach in the country, his players love him, is an okay recruiter as well. Doesn't matter who signs with him he develops monsters

Miami really needs another elite recruiter on the staff IMO. That's why I say richt should try and hire Mario Cristobal to coach the te and be the other co offensive coordinator. At receiver position we should hire one of Kevin beard, George McDonald, trooper Taylor, Lamar Thomas, receiver coach at Texas a&m or lsu old receiver coach to complete the staff

Thank you!

I dont know about Banda I believe rumph can be successful at it especially having south florida ties, nfl experience, college national championship

Sidenote I think it will benefit the secondary by having a corner and safety coach

I'm pretty sure the recruiting coordinator is not allowed to personally recruit so how would you know Hartley is a good recruiter?

Hartley recruited Georgia very well for Marshall. Brought in Neville Hewitt(now with Dolphins) among others. Players loved him FWIW.

Yes he was allowed to personally recruit at Uga when prospects were on campus and through social media. He did a great job recruiting kids to come to Marshall as well. He is good at what he does

I totally agree with your assessment at the TE and WR positions. Mark Richt needs to land an elite recruiter at one of these positions. I wonder what will it take to pry Mario Cristobal away from Saban.

All the talk of Mark Richt waiting until the NFL season was over seems more like he was simply hashing out the details of the coaches he identified to be on his staff.

I don't understand why people keep bringing up Cristobal. How many Miami kids has he recruited to Alabama? I don't want him anywhere near our program. Get over it already!

I think it will help the backs, but don't most staffs put the "extra" coach on linebackers? Apparently, Diaz feels he can take care of them alone.
