Lol, yeah. Being a successful NFL player has seldom been a factor in someone's ability to coach. What Rumph was successful at was RECRUITING KIDS TO HERITAGE. That roster has gotten progressively more D1 players each year, not because they are getting coached up there, because Heritage turned into a recruiting power.

Richt doesn't need to hire assistant coaches only for recruiting purposes. He's proven the last 15 years that he is an excellent recruiter. There's just as much reason to believe, however crazy as it may seem, that he may have hired Rumph as a coach because he thinks he can... Coach

You are going to base all these things off a 17 yr old High school student who likes attention, going out and seeing whats available outside of his current commitment.....C'mon yall. I bleed orange and green too, honestly I dont know why im taking the time to respond to this, but I like reading about my Canes on this board, but the trash people say to incite other fearful fans (including myself at times I will admit) gets to be so ridiculous I just hope I am reading posts from 14 yr old girls. Richt will be fine, He has had this job for about 5 weeks or so. He is nothing like Golden and does not strike me as a desperate man. The kids that love the U will likely come to the U. We arent chasing sleeper kids year round anymore, so to lose a really good recruit shouldnt be as "damning" as it was the past 4 or so years. I get that speculation is part of the fun in following recruiting, but lets stop bashing or questioning the abilities of our brand spanking new coach until he at least holds his forst spring practice. This attitude right here is how you stay average for 10 years and never reach even your ****ty conference's championship game.

interesting as Golden never took an offer away and took everyone hence the amount of decommits. theres an article in WEZ of Harbaugh yanking an offer from a committed kid for over two years and Harbaugh is a savage and da gawd. taking offers away and turning kids down only creates value in an offer from the University of Miami. When you pass them out like candy not the right kids want that. That makes total sense. Pull a kids offer and the story won't be "Richt acted like a little b**ch because a kid wanted to take some visits".
