FSU's bridesmaid for 2 years..

and then it was on...

would this fanbase, its fake fanbase, the local lynchmob media, and the toxicity that builds here after 2-3 years, and how that affects recruiting, ever support a rebuild like this?

who are gonna be our Taj Boyds, Sammy Watkins, CJ Spillers, etc.. who buy into a vision and are developed

Not so sure, the only hope is the culture argument, and building one that people continue to buy into in spite of some not so great results

Let's hope Manolo turns into Miami's Saban/Dabo.

Last night was the culmination of the day Swinney first stepped foot at Clemson.

Institutionally, Clemson is only slighty larger than Miami. Perhaps if they did it there, Diaz van do it in Coral Gables.

Curious to know staff salaries in Death Valley (Clemson).

Both OCs and Venebales make HC type money.

(Lower tier for the OCs of course at right around a mil - raises incoming I'm sure)
 
Being able to hire Morris for over a million, and being able to steal Venables from Oklahoma is what elevated this program to another level. The belief in Dabo to make those excellent hires and the financial commitment to fulfill them... The administration in Clemson has it going on.

Don’t forget to add jacoby ford to that list of players that bought in and got Clemson on the road to wear they are now. Kid was a speed demon up here in west palm in high school.?

We already did, Google Butch "******'" Davis.

And the toxicity comes from fans that have seen UM play great football before, not b!tches who were born after 1-1-03', or hoes that want the former to make believe that they never saw UM win 5 Natties.

Right. Clemson was in the winds until they decided to pony up for an elite staff and drop a few bags to open up recruiting. The same can be done here to turn the corner. Great coaching and recruit. Even if the Jeudys and Jobes keep dipping out for a while we'll still win.

A 'ship? Might need bags for that.

bingo!! completely agree but we had a built in excuse that built "some" patience but recruits were buying in in spite of banners
 
With any new coach, I’m patient. But we need to see on field and off field improvements and improvements are not necessarily wins/losses.

And I’m getting a little sick & tired of these super fans tossing out the description of “fake fans” or “mob” b/c we’re vocal about the incompetence that’s been shown around here.

There was literally no excuse for the bull chit that was happening under his watch. He had been a head coach for 15 yrs at a top tier school in arguably the toughest conference in CFB, and had plenty of experience in coaching roles prior to that! The QB room was a mess, the offense was a mess, his refusal to adapt was aggravating, and the recruiting was subpar. Everyone complained about him that weren’t even Miami fans, so enough w the bull chit.
 
Yes this fanabse would've support what happened up there bc Dabo recognized and made the necessary changes when he had to, and you could see the growth with the team even if the record didn't necessarily match it.

Golden and Richt both had opportunities to extend their stays here but chose loyalty and stubborness.
 
EXACTLY. Was just thinking about this. I dont mind being patient but i know bull**** when i see it.

Shannon was in over his head.

Golden was a used car salesman committed to a horrible defensive philosophy.

And Richt should have never accepted the job when he knew he was already checked out.

Im willing to give Manny some time if i see a cpl of things.

More passion and toughness from the entire team immediately.

Foresight to adjust schemes and personnel for the betterment of the program. For example, Dabo had to balls to start the TrueFresh QB instead of taking the safe route with Bryant and prolly finishing 13-2/12-2 and losing to Bama or in the semifinal.

Recruit, recruit, recruit.....We should be top 15 in recruit rankings from this point forward no excuses.

Do this and in 3 yrs we are legit playoff CONTENDERS. 2 YEARS IF we have a lights out '19 class and Jarren is as good as some think he can be. I think is more realistic though because of how horrible this class will be.

so you think when Dabo went 6-7 it was while exercising supreme excellence?

Clemson on a level playing field as far as support staff. Slightly more than Miami. Alabama is on another level in that area though.

We need to get back to winning... we might not be able to knock off Clemson in the ACCCG with them on a roll and having Trevor but dammit we need to win the Coastal consistently with 10 win seasons and win our New Years day bowls..... keep stacking chips slowly and then we will have our chance again

Manny needs to change the culture here. We've got guys who spend more time on Snapchat and Twitter than honing their craft. We simply gave up discretionary practices. Our S&C coach would show up late to team workouts. We let recruits hang around campus like they already signed a LOI. We suspended guys for the wrong reasons, etc. etc.

I can write a treatise on the history of mistakes we've made that are easily fixable. Now it's on Manny to fix it.
