Dabo was done the moment he had to compete in a truly open talent market. Back when Dabo, Saban, Smart and a couple of other select coaches could divvy up talent amongst them, with the NCAA enforcement arm serving as the attack dog for any school that dared to compete, it was all good. Now, everyone can offer the same things, and we are seeing that the faith and football nonsense doesn't play nearly as well....

You ever heard him speak? I'm a native Texan, every kid from the suburbs of Austin isn't some urbane cat. He's not Tim Tebow levels of weird, but there's always been this "God, Family and Football" vibe with him. I don't think that plays in places where you have legitimate diversity on the roster. Not an accident that Clemson's roster doesn't look anything like it once did, and there's a reason why...Those kids don't have to choose to play for someone like Dabo anymore, because they can get paid ANYWHERE.
