Clemson & ND agree on 12 yr reciprocal game agreement.

If we were going to a new conference with ND as our +1, why wouldn’t we be the first to schedule this arrangement?

🤔🤔🤔

ND is up in the air.

I would not be shocked if UM and GaTech were the southernmost pairing for the Big 10.

Notre Dame will always have a "plus" designation, they will always have a spot in the Big 10 even if there were 36 other Big 10 teams already.

their NBC deals pays them well. if a conference allows them to keep all their revenue from their NBC deal, then theyll join somewhere.

Correct. Their new deal with NBC pays them $50M and change each year, which is pretty much in line with the Big 10 TV payouts, although about $10M behind the SEC. ND also keeps the playoff payouts entirely to itself (totaling $20M last year), whereas conferences have to split it with the other member schools (OSU only made I think like $2.5M total).

They're also guaranteed a spot in the playoff if they're top 15. As long as NBC continues to pay, there's absolutely no incentive for them to join a conference.

thought about this more today and got my jimmies all tussled.....

The line about VaTech being some valuable rival is complete BS and hasn't been the case outside of the BigEast / Vick years, when we were fighting for the BigEast.... That game makes NO money or interest nationally..... UM needs to wake the **** up and try to make top money....

I'd settle for a yearly alternating game with ND and USC... Get the big money from the ND rivalry and keep that going strong... I think a UM vs. USC (Palm Tree Bowl) would be a great new tradition and wouldn't hurt to get in a good rivalry with a B10 school that doesn't snow....

Id drop that VT game in a second for any kind of high profile matchup yearly.....

ND/Miami/UVA/Georgia Tech/VT to the Big10 & Clemson/FSU/UNC/& Nc State to the SEC

Louisville/Syrcause/Duke/Pitt & SMU to the Big12

BC/Wake Forest to the AAC
Cal/Stanford to the New Pac

*(This isn’t based on realistic expectations btw)* but I wouldn’t mind seeing it unfold this way

NOTRE DAME working on tv contracts with Clemson NOT us, and you think they’re our ally to get into the B1G? No chance

Tea leafs either say Miami is BOXED out, or Clemson and all are STUCK in the ACC.

Unless DAN RAD is playing mind games!

Everything in that post is incorrect factually.

Ah, who says ND isn't working on more games with UM? LOT of moving parts to very widespread realignment activities being discussed and structured.

LOT of smoke that ND greatly prefers Miami in the B10 vs other ACC programs ... and it isn't a pure coincidence that ND and Miami received a strong vote of confidence from the B10 presidents for AAU accreditation. ND's media partners want SECURITY of big $$$ games, and so does Clemson. That is why they sued to get OUT of the ACC.

They will likely end up in the SEC with a $$$ OOC ND contract in their pocket. Both Miami and FSU and UNC will be playing ND more frequently ... the ACC is headed PAC 12.

I'm really beginning to think the telecommuter AD is intentionally trying to sabotage his alma mater. He inspires ZERO confidence that he has UM's best interest at heart.
