Given the ability to buy players he succeeds. LSU offered that opportunity. Just like Richt was more successful recruiting at UGA. And Pete Carroll at USC, but they got popped. And how Dabo was reeling in 5 stars after a 6-7 season.

Ed Orgeron is ONE year younger than Richt. Fired multiple times, but given a power house ADMIN he succeeds.

And Pete Carroll is the oldest coach in the NFL and still makes the playoffs every year.

Richt was mentally finished, regardless of his age. He was burnt out and was overrated at UGA anyway.
