Clemson fan here

I'm not holding my breath on this game. We are on our way to being a Clemson type program, but we lack depth and have a lot of injuries at key positions.

Our only proven te is out.
Our third best DE is out.
Our best RB is out.
Our best WR is injured all year.

I think we are young, tired and out of gas. It's been a great run and with a great QB I'd like our chances, but Rosier is too inconsistent and erratic to pull this off on the road. That said, go Canes!

Clemson fan, Miami is notorious for "playing to the competition", as well-evidenced in the VT & ND games vs. the rest of the teams we played this year. Your team should be in the VT & ND column - actually, probably much better than these 2 teams. Thus, we should come out swinging, but hey these are generally 18 to 22 year old young men and sometimes their own agenda gets in the way.

I honestly think we play down because we try to keep things verrrry vanilla against those other teams, no one can tell me otherwise. On defense we sit in 4-3 base with basic zone behind it. On offense very few wrinkles.

We play a big game and we are doing reverse passes and wildcat and on defense we have dbs at dt position for spy and different blitz packages custom to that teams offense. The Clemson off coord mentioned as much about Diaz.

I don't mind that theory but it let's these lesser teams qb get in rhythm and hang around longer, we find ourselves in fog fights like uva, or lose like Pitt. Also our back up qb can't get work because we can't blow anybody out so when you do a qb switch he has 5 passes all season.. smh

I get that. Our backups haven’t gotten much work either. Our back up is a much better passer than Bryant but hes not much of a running threat

Tell your OL they can hold with abandon.

With a Lead, the UM defense is lights out.
The key, for Miami, is to score in the 1st quarter..

^ Why can't we have more cross over fans on this board that don't act like a jackass.

We had Duke fans coming on to talk **** on the board. DUKE.

As for Clemson, other than the 58-0 loss, I can still remember CJ Spiller running all over us on special teams during the Shannon years.

Don't hate you guys, but I really want to beat you.

Also, on this board, do not ever say you like the Florida Gators.

It wouldn't be good for you. ;)

So which is worse gators or fsu?

I do think the depth will be an issue for UM. But with the coach you have it wont be long and this will be a annual game

I believe the key for Miami is to get Rosier to complete passes. Thats been his downfall and also our O-line. I swear we get no holding calls than any other team.

Stole your sentence because it the same problem we're having. Bold = changes

Clemson guy - you are favored by 7 or more and that seems right on paper. You have more 5 stars, more playoff experience and probably a better offense and a defense that is special. If this game was in Miami, you would not make it out alive. That I am sure about. But on a "neutral" field that will be mostly packed with your fans it is an uphill battle for us. Add to that the lack of respect we get from ACC officials (no offensive holding calls in over 500 plays) and the recent all ACC teams that had only our kicker as a first team player (and he had a so so year by his standards) we know it will take an all out effort to beat you guys. Is our team capable of that at this stage of Richt's time in Miami? That is the question. Perhaps. Perhaps not. If you asked us before last Friday, we all thought we were ready for you guys. Now, some of us are having second thoughts because Pitt was as sorry as Syracuse (for the year overall and not on the day each team played them). So maybe you have a doubt in your mind like we do. One thing I think will happen is that this will be a really close game. Both defenses are excellent when the offense does its part. I am going to wish for a great game by both teams. But make no doubt that these teams will dominate the ACC for the next five years and we will meet many times in the Championship game. And maybe by then, we will actually get an offensive holding call on year 5, lol.

Yes i agree that fact that Clemson has been in big games recently will definitely help. We are where we want to be. Its on a neutral feild will be big time for us. I also expect a good game either way and most definitely wont be the last meeting for a while

Yes...and you forgot ND. It’s ok though, we told them exactly how we were going to beat them and never showed back up.

Defensively we have to play a perfect game, your offense is deeper and better than ours and since your defense is quality...we need some breaks...but hey, we'll be there since it is on our schedule to play...now if your guys would play with one hand tied behind their backs...I'd be sure we'd win :ambivalence:...otherwise Rosier HAS to be as he was in the VT and ND games. Without the season ending injuries we've had you have the advantage we only have two RB's and one switched during the season, we are deep at WR although our best one is hampered by injuries, but Hurricanes have a way of proving themselves when the odds are against them...time will tell! Meanwhile :officemoon:

We hate Gators, ND, and then Noles. Heck, I don't root for them, but I don't hate the Noles. The Gators? Hate those arrogant, self-righteous ******** that refuse to play us.

Congratulations on winning the coastal division guys. Looking forward to a hard fought game between both teams. Its also good to have Miami back on the scene. Good luck going forward no matter the outcome.

Awesome post. Great up votes. Very substantial ground breaking message board fodder. So glad I pay for this ****, where else would I get it?

Depends on who you ask. The newer fans will say FSU.

The older fans....well....

I agree thats why the games are played. Hence Syracuse this year and Pitt to us last year.

Clemson is gonna be hard to hate. The longer y’all are good the more FSU loses the division and that’s funny.

I can only hope for a brutal intense game that spawns a rivalry where we meet yearly in Charlotte. I’ll have some beverages on Saturday to help the hate build

I hope we whip ya'lls asses, but I'll be a bit beholding to Clemson for getting rid of two coaches I absolutely hated.

Woody Hayes at Taint. (Ohio State)

Al ****ing Golden. (UM)

Uh, exactly where you going to be sitting?

Asking for a friend.

Follow baseball and you will very quickly come to hate the 'Noles.

But yes: for us old school cats it's Gators first. Then 'Noles and ND. No love for Penn State or OSU. And I'm happy to see Virginia lose every game since the starters stayed in to the very end in the final game before the Orange Bowl was torn down against an emaciated and very defeated team in 2007.

I actually have a ton of respect for Clemson and Dabo. That could all change in less than a week, I suppose, but I doubt it.

Agreed. And an understandably very tired team (natural disaster ate up our bye week, so this will be our 11th consecutive game without a break) will be hard-pressed to make up for mediocre-at-best run blocking, an inconsistent QB, a punter who can't punt, and NFL All-Pro DLs who are held every single play and have gone 550 consecutive plays without a flag being thrown in their favor.

Had they called just two of the at least 12 egregious holding penalties and Rosier had connected on just two of the at least 12 wide open receivers he missed, we would have beat Pitt despite the overall lackluster play.

That said, if that fire is there against Clemson, this team has an incredible ability to absolutely dominate anyone. Few teams have it, and this team does. If they can channel it - and I obviously sure as **** hope they can - watch out.
