Classes canceled until Wednesday..

The IPF is actually a hurricane proof shelter. The issue is the coach's and player's families. Do they all camp out at the IPF or does everyone go home and hunker down?
Bring every **** body. Keep practicing. Isn’t the theme of the Manny era no excuses?

Whatever....Manny and the athletic department will do the right thing. In some cases, our players might be the man of the house and would be needed for preparation. Not a trivial matter.

Not a situation for message board bravado.

At least if next weekends game gets cancelled it will be made up. Won’t be another scenario where Arkansas State sues Miami when that game was cancelled and not made up. Miami would have won by 84.28 if they played.

That's what happened last time with Appalachian State. They released the players to go home to be with their families. The people at App State were ****ed. They did not understand our situation. They should have been more accommodating and agreed to reschedule for a subsequent year. If a game with UM was so important they could have done that. Instead we ended up in litigation.

I would not be in favor of playing UNC next week if we don't have enough practice. If players are scattered, some might not make it back in time to travel to the game.

With that prior hurricane, many players were needed at home to help with preparation for the hurricane. That might be the case again.
Arkansas st*

I'm less worried about practice and more worried about whether the game will get cancelled or rescheduled. The hurricane is going to be sitting over Central Florida on Wednesday morning, which means it could still be a strong tropical storm by the time it hits North Caroline over the weekend. There is a pretty decent chance that the team will be unable to travel or UNC will request a postponement due to the weather.

It shows it passing the Carolinas on Thursday so it will be well away by saturday. Team should go up to Atalanta and practice for the week. If not, then we basically go into the game without any practice next week.

Why would it be cancelled? The storm passes the Carolinas on Thursday

Because people got chit to clean up and do after a storm. Resources are spread thin. Why would medical and police watch a football game while they could help people
Sames goes for all the players and staff at the game. They all have lives too. Im not saying it will be cancelled but thats the why. Something the arkansas st idiots never understood about storm prep

Thats fair. I don’t live on the coast so I do forget about all the other stuff around a major storm. I just look at the track of the storm and when it will be gone. This thing could still turn and twist or weaken. Hard to say until Monday when it starts to get close to land.

The track is further north to Port St Lucie which is 2-3 hours north of Coral Gables. There’s little to nothing that will occur to UM’s campus if Dorian stays on this path.

Coaches and players need to be practicing Saturday and Sunday mornings for sure as they have a TON to fix and the weather will be just fine. Put in the game plan and execute it. Take Monday and Tuesday off, back to work Wednesday as Dorian will be in Jax then.

Completely missing Florida based off the last run. Thing can still shift but it keeps moving northeast. Looks like it might actually make landfall in the Carolinas. This could be a problem for the game now. If the Carolinas get hit with a Cat 2 on Thursday, I just don’t see how we play Saturday. They should already be looking at changing the site of the game. **** move it to Miami and then play back to back years at UNC.
