Elite 2028 safety CJ Craig-James named his Top 12 schools earlier this summer. As the summer winds down and the junior season nears, there is a select group of schools leading the way.

Out of the dozen schools still in contention, the Birmingham (Ala.) Parker standout has Alabama, Georgia, Miami and Notre Dame are setting the pace.

“Those four schools have been relentless since June 15,” Craig-James told Rivals. “As soon as they could start calling, they did. They text me to check in and those four are definitely up there for me.”

The Hurricanes have done an excellent job staying in touch with Craig-James while backing it up with an impressive summer visit.

“I had a great time down there. The coaches, the facilities — it was all nice. I want to get back for a game this year.”

Craig-James is close with Miami cornerback commit Ai’King Hall as well.

No game-day visits are locked in yet, but the No. 89 prospect in the Rivals Industry Ranking plans to be active in the coming months.

“I want to get to Notre Dame, Alabama, Miami, Georgia, Ohio State, Florida and as many places as I can. After these visits this season, I will probably cut my list down again.

“I want to get it down to the three-five range, then work toward making a decision.”
