CJ Carr praise?

Whether or not he ends up being great or bad, I thought he performed well given the circumstances surrounding his 1st ever start as a college qb. Who knows, if Nickel doesn’t workout, we could look into him as a portal qb at some point… did I do that right?? In all honesty, I hope we don’t have to go that route given Nickel is here and Coleman is following him.

It's impossible to know whether or not he'll be a good QB. There was nothing in that performance that showcased something that was above average, other than his moxie and nerves. Some times that's great for a QB. But Emory Williams beat Clemson and almost beat FSU with similar offensive game plans and similar moxie/guts.

For our sake, I hope he balls out going forward. Would love Notre Dame to go 11-1. That Texas A&M game will be an easy one to root for Notre Dame.

We shut down our entire operation on both sides of ball, I know the big bust was what everyone remembers but there was a 10 yard hitch where we had a corner like 20 yards deep and nobody underneath. There wasnt anyone within 10 yards, we basically prevent and conceded the entire drive at that point.

We really just wanted to stop playing football. 4 minunte offense and prevent on defense for entire 4th qtr. is insane.

Yea I didn't like. Devil's advocate says if we're slinging it all over there's no guarantee that works either but they're gonna have to trust Beck and the WRs a little more and I think they will.

Yea there is nuance, but shutting down entire operation was a little much. The turning point was the penalty on the punt return, we go from on 30 to backed up, everything flipped after that.

Also if #6 for ND doesnt do the smart thing and take 15 yard penalty on PI when beat deep late in game, Keelan scores, and everyone is saying Dawson went full on Tamu '23 mode with lets end this **** right here.. so I get it.

But the numbers are the numbers, you cant shut down for a whole qtr. We put ourselves at risk after controlling the whole game.

I just dont get why we didnt do any drive starter passes with beck, maybe he cant throw sidearm or they were really low percentage with him in practice because rewatching UF game as many times as possible, I can tell you it didnt matter what time on clock, part of field or anything, we kept offense on gas all game up a bunch more. Drive starters with Arroyo AND Lofton late in game with TE screen to get offense rolling.

I was impressed with his poise and surprised by his running. They need to open up the playbook for me to make a determination on his passing ability. That was a tough first start and Detrick shielded him with all those screens but at the same time made it easier for us to bring db’s up leading to the pick.

So you’d be good with Emory having 90 yards passing on 11/19 through 3 qtrs with primarily all screens and check downs before the other team goes prevent and has a busted coverage that inflates his stats?
he hit all the throws that were dialed up for him. What else is he supposed to do? it was their gameplan. When he needed to create w his legs or arm, he did.

Emory looked great when the Canes beat Clemson, and ended in Poptart failure. It could be that Carr’s not as good as everyone thinks after one decent game with a Championship level cast surrounding him? Personally hope he loses the Blue Bonnet Bowl with his leprechaun buddies.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- — They were down by 10 in the fourth quarter. They were facing an opponent that always seems to blow them out. They were without their starting quarterback. And they were coming off two losses that left a very distinct sense of here-we-go-again around a program that has sputtered plenty in recent years.

No, Miami is not back.

But this might be a night the Hurricanes remember for a long time.

Ajay Allen got the go-ahead score on a 3-yard run in the second overtime, and shorthanded Miami ended the game on a fourth-down stop to stun Clemson 28-20 on Saturday night.

“It validates a lot,” Miami coach Mario Cristobal said. “And it increases our appetite to go get more.”

Emory Williams, playing in place of injured Miami quarterback Tyler Van Dyke, completed 24 of 33 passes for 151 yards and a touchdown for the Hurricanes (5-2, 1-2 Atlantic Coast Conference).

CJ Carr played great for the circumstances and I expect him to be a very good QB this season, not just soon. Is that so hard to say?
Let me ask. Different positions, but did Malichi Toney do anything more special than Carr for ND? Everyone here thinks Toney will be a star. What's the difference, except QB is so much harder to play and the most important position on the field.
His 1st college snap at a sold out Rock, according to the net he didn't win his job, he pukes from nerves all practice. He passed for 221 yards, ran the ball much better than anyone expected and had a chance to win the game against a legit Top 10 team in the 4th Q. He had 2 wet rag T's trying to block 2 NFL players. In the most important time of the game (the 4Q) he light us up. He sucks! Miami fans say he sucks. Let's go to a ND board and tell them how bad he sucks. Is that it?

HELLO MRS HAVILCHAMP THE BALL IS OVER THERE. My goodness what game wer you watching? Under the circumstances playing as a freshman
Why is everyone in the media saying how impressed they were with Carr on Sunday? His final stat line looks fine but he had 86 yards entering the 4th qtr. We went to softer coverages with a 21-7 lead where he put together 1 drive, then got 65 yards on a busted coverage. Anyway on to Bethune
HELLO MRS HAVELCHAMP THE BALL IS OVER HERE. My goodness he is a freshman playing in front of a hostile crowd, inclimate weather, national TV and ranking implications, etc. The reason why ND was in the game was because of him. He was instrumental in all three scores and for a freshman under the spotlight he was awesome. Nobody hates ND like me but that kid has a bright future and has ALL AMERICAN written all over him. I wish we had him. He does everything well and just needs experience. Please take your blinders off and try to infuse some objectivity in your analysis.

You have me all confused, lol. Did I not say he did well under the circumstances??

If you don’t think the kid played pretty well all things considered, idk what you watched. He’s got a ton of potential. Whether or not he continues to develop, is to be seen.

The subtle side step to avoid Bain early on was well beyond his years. He did a great job of keeping his eyes downfield when our D line was consistently in his lap.

He was awesome? He had 150 yards passing with 5 mins before a 65 yard busted coverage. Guess our definition of awesome is different

Emory has never ever looked great high school included. Please delete this.
