Miami Football will open the 2026 college football season tomorrow night, as the Hurricanes travel out west to take on the Stanford Cardinal. The opening kickoff is set for 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time on ESPN. The Canes are a 23.5-point favorite over the Cardinal, who are 1-0 on the season.

Both teams have plenty of new faces on both sides of the ball. Stanford brought in Davis Warren from Michigan and surrounded him with solid offensive production. Stanford's defense returns seven starters from this past season, though the team gave up a total of 29.2 points per game, which ranked dead last in the ACC. The team retained junior cornerback Brandon Nicholson, who led the team with two interceptions and 24 tackles. The Cardinal also returned veteran linebacker Matt Rose, who tallied nine tackles in the win over Hawaii.

Mario Cristobal secured a commitment from one of the best quarterbacks in the country, Darian Mensah. The Hurricanes defense is stacked led by veteran production Ahmad Moten, Mohamed Toure, Damon Wilson, Marquise Lightfoot, and Omar Thornton, among others.

Being agressive , running off tackles ( stretch plays ) we should score a lot each. imo on the road a win is a win . This isn’t some bs team they can’t fight back . Had all summer to prepare for us

Maybe u didn’t watch the game we lost last year . A gap all game , same bs screen passes . Never opened up until we had to win out . Did you not watch the SMU , Louisville , fsu second half , Indiana first half .

I don't want to see a slow, plodding, conversative offense/gameplan from Cristobal and crew. We have the QB, OL, RBs, WRs, TEs (??) to d**n near score at will. Hang 50+ on em. Build a sizeable lead to where the 2nd and 3rd stringers are getting playing time well into the 3rd & 4th quarters.
