U maybe right that coaching favors ND but I remember they lost to G5 schools 2 years in a row early. Marshall 2 seasons ago, Northern Illinois last season. So they have that in them

I dont understand this narrative that Freeman is some coaching genius. This is the same guy who has lost to Marshall and NIU and left 10 men on the field for 2 consecutive plays at the goal line to win/lose the game in his biggest non playoff game ever.

Last year he benefited from a weak *** sched, a Beckless UGA with an offense that was wounded or weak at every other position, and a **** poor PSU passing game.

NDs most impressive game of the playoff was the loss to OSU in which they managed to stay in the game but ultimately lost the game because they thought it was a good idea to play man with no safety help against Jeremiah Smith. The world would be torching Mario for that ****.

I get that Mario's rep makes it such that until he wins it all in a season free of coaching blunders that he'll be considered less than against nearly any coach but Freeman is not immune to idiotic decisions. Hes made plenty and they have cost him big.
