Cincy vs USF

Yup...

He was recruited & developed by Mike Mickens, who was a former Cincinnati CB himself, he got his first job at Nati as a GA, but then cut his teeth at Idaho with Paul Petrino (Bobby’s younger brother) & was at Bowling Green with Dino Babers before Fickell brought him back to Cincinnati. He went with Marcus Freeman over to Notre Dame & is one of their best recruiters.

But Sauce Gardener started as a TF & was a kid who absolutely skyrocketed in terms of his potential & ability.

Perry Eliano gets credit for him & the rest of that secondary as well, but Sauce was a kid that was a mid-tier 3-star coming out of HS but developed into the best cover corner in the country.

Which goes to show how important talent evaluation is in the equation of building a great team.
Played mostly WR up to his Sr year at MLK. Clocked a 4.72 40. If we had offered him out of HS, this board would have melted.

Sounds a lot like Couch. Fans hated Ivey so much that they either overlooked, or were willfully ignorant of Couch's slow as **** 40 time LOL.

Ahmad Gardener & Coby Bryant are one of the best CB duo’s in the nation.

Ahmad is an elite cover corner & will undoubtedly be a 1st round draft pick.

What round do you see Coby Bryant grouped in? I think Ahmad is the best cb in the country but I like the way Coby plays the position too. Has a playmaker mentality not scared of the ball or opposing WRs.

I wasn’t arguing that we should have offered him, I was simply laying out how he he was developed.

And the board melts all the time because the fact is, most people don’t really know what to look for anyway...

Oh, I hear you. It just seems like coaches at teams like Cinci and Iowa St see the X factor in some of these players that don’t jump off stat sheets or star rankings.
